“Although I was excited to trial the results of HD Brows for myself, I was a little apprehensive ahead of the treatment. I had never had my eyebrows shaped or tinted before. My concern was that I might come out with severe looking eyebrows or that they would be too dark for my colouring.”

Stepping into Setsuko Beauty Clinic instantly calmed my nerves. A wonderful fragrance filled the treatment room which was modern with personal touches, beautifully clean-looking and totally private – everything you could want from a beauty salon.

With the guidance of Setsuko ( owner of Setsuko Beauty and lovely therapist trained in HD Brows) looking through a HD Brows ‘before and after’ book gave us an idea of the shape and colour i liked the most. This also gave Setsuko a good visual starting point from which to work from.

After running through the process initially, my eyebrows were tinted first to a similar yet slightly richer colour and then waxed to give initial definition once the colour had taken. Next, stray hairs were threaded (which doesn’t hurt one bit!) and tweezed and the actual brow hairs trimmed. Setsuko then applied HD makeup around the brows to take away the redness from the waxing and on top used further HD make up to fill in any gaps and really perfect the new shape.

While the brows take time to grow guided by the newer shape, the make up element of the treatment, while not permanent, showed us the potential end result of what a few regular sessions could do. It also meant I could enjoy having perfectly shaped eye brows for my evening out that day! This would be a great bit of personal pampering ahead of any occasion. The therapist then set my brows with a HD gel, to stop any wayward hairs, and I was good to go! Setsuko also advised where I needed to allow the hair to grow and which areas I could pluck (if needed) in order to keep the desired shape in between the next treatment.

I was so pleasantly surprised with how they looked after the treatment which took all of about 20 minutes. I felt totally confident in the colour matching by Setsuko. She was clearly well-trained, experienced and completely accurate in understanding the different shapes that suited us both. Depending on how quickly your own individual eyebrows grow, I was advised around 4 to 6 weeks is usually the return period for the next treatment – should you wish to keep up the regrowth programme.
