Get the Black & White look on the Wedding Ideas Shop

If you’re planning your winter wedding, then read on lovely ladies, this blog post could be just what you need for a little Monday morning inspiration…

Early one cold, cloudy day in January a team of spirited wedding professionals arrived at the grand Fetcham Park House for a highly stylized bridal shoot captured by the talented Fiona Kelly, born from a spontaneous twitter conversation, and months of meticulous planning, research and sharing of ideas.

The overall concept was to create an editorial style shoot, set in a cold and sparkling winter wonderland and a subtle feather theme taken from the latest 2012 bridal trends. The shots were set in a white and silver tree-lined aisle created by florist Steph (Fairynuff Flowers) and stylist Louise (b.loved Weddings), making reference to the planted trees at Westminster Cathedral for the Royal Wedding last year. The cool and calm bride makes her way to an altar with crystals dripping from the trees, and white and silver glittering birds perched on the branches to create a surreal atmosphere.

Spotted on the catwalk at the Luxury Wedding Show, the structured lines of ‘Ming’s Empress’ by The State of Grace Bridal, with its billowing sheer sleeves and silver lined collar, was the perfect dress for our model bride, Elena. The make-up and hair is polished and simple, bar a striking slick of silver and black glitter accentuating the eyes with gorgeous crystal adorned lashes, by makeup artist Ana Milena Ospina and hair stylist Hayley King. The bridal look is complemented by bespoke accessories by Victoria Mary Vintage, the first dripping with pearls and beads giving the effect of sparkling ice crystals, and the second an intricately beaded silver feather motif in a subtle 1920’s style. Making use of the dramatic and imposing frontage of Fetcham Park House, we used the first floor balcony to create a series of striking shots of the bride wearing a simple, but long, veil as a nod to the growing trend for long, cathedral length veils.

The dessert bar is a white, and sparkling tempting treat, adorned with edible crystals, sequins, diamonds and glitter in the same cool ice tones – bright white, pale blues and silver, prepared by Tempting Cake. The feather motif repeats in an elegant flourish on top of a statement cake, and again in the soft and elegant stationery designed by Beyond Beyond
