When it comes to wedding shoes, 2014 sees the welcome return of delicate, understated features, says designer Rachel Simpson. This year, less is definitely more. Read on to discover even more top wedding shoe trends for the coming months…
Coming in… Luxurious lace
Lace appears in abundance this season – on everything from wedding dresses to stationery to shoes. From full overlay to simple accents, it’s unassuming yet sophisticated quality gives a feeling of luxury without being overpowering. Make sure your wedding shoes feature lace in some way this year and you’ll be bang on trend.
Coming in… Lower heel heights
Beautiful, wearable, comfortable shoes are vital all year round, but even more so on your wedding day. Heel heights have been lowered to complement the austere elegance of this year’s ladylike style trends. Low heels no longer mean less style, and ensure comfort ‘til the early hours.
Coming in… Soft shades
Romantic, muted shades of pinks, peaches, blues and greens will continue to blossom this year for wedding shoes. While ivory remains an unfaltering favourite, real brides are looking at ways to introduce subtle colours into their wedding.
Going out… Over-the-top sparkle
Less is more this year so we say a fond farewell to over-the-top bling and spangle. 2014 also sees softer detailing like delicate metallic accents, cute bows and lace overlays to give personality and individuality to each design. A shoe that will live long after the big day and quickly become an accessory for all occasions.
