Wedding cake by Hall of Cakes

I kicked this week off with a visit to The Wedding Day Bridal show, held at 1 Lombard Street in central London. What a stunning venue and actually the perfect place for a city wedding. The star of the show was the amazing, five-foot cake displayed as I walked in, created by Hall of Cakes, it was an absolute beauty! After meeting the lovely Katherine from the gorgeous Katherine Elizabeth hats, who featured on the catwalk, I got to try one of the venue’s signature cocktails while watching the showcase of the latest Sassi Holford collection – wow what a treat and yes the cocktail was yummy!

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts
Krispy Kremes for the Wedding Ideas team

The next day, up early I headed back to Herd HQ (home of Wedding Ideas) loaded with Krispy Kreme doughnuts for the team, I spent two fabulous days with the in-house web team and our talented friend Steve from UK Wedding SEO, who has been helping us to revamp the Wedding Ideas website. Prepare to see some BIG changes to the website over the next few weeks my friends!

My south west trip finished with evening of networking at the South West Tweet Up, run by Marry Me Somerset and hosted at The Manor Somerset – a beautiful 13th century, exclusive use wedding venue on the outskirts of Taunton. We were proud to be associated with this great event, they really put on a lovely evening and I fell in love with the sound of the Classical Songbirds, who were hired to entertain us while we all mingled with fellow local wedding suppliers.

I was so excited to spend the next two days with Rachel Morgan, managing editor of Wedding Ideas. We started our trip to London with a visit to the International showcase for Relais & Chateaux hotel group. We were blown away by some of the amazing properties. If you want a luxurious wedding venue then look no further, they have properties all over the world and there is definitely something for everyone.

Groovy Booth fun
Editor Rachel and Me having fun in the Groovy Booth

After a quick sushi lunch we rushed over to Bluewater Wedding Week gala evening, where we met with friends and Wedding Ideas Award winners, Hugh Harris Formal Wear, we had fun in the Groovy Booth and even managed a quick chat with the fabulous Ian Stuart before he went on stage. We always have such a giggle reminiscing about our crazy night out at the New York bridal market. We just can’t get enough of Ian and readers absolutely love his beautiful award-winning Mother of the Bride Collection, featured in the latest issue of Wedding Ideas Magazine.

Our week finished at the uber trendy Designer Wedding Show in Battersea, where the cream of the wedding industry displayed their latest collections and products. Matthew Williamson stood out with his gorgeous, designer wedding gowns, which dazzled down the catwalk.
