Wedding show season has officially kicked off and it certainly started with a bang!
Next season previews
This week saw the opening of the British Bridal Exhibition in Harrogate. Myself and Rachel Morgan, editor of Wedding Ideas, went along to check out the brand new 2013 wedding dress collections to find out exactly what our brides will be wearing next year. 2013 is all about lace and fishtails, with some lovely back detailing and pretty waist bands.
We were wowed on the catwalk by the gorgeous new collection by Diane Harbridge and fell in love with the exclusive Diamond Collection by Alfred Angelo, which will be going on tour in October so be sure to check their website to find out if they will be visiting your local store…
On Sunday night Wedding Ideas teamed up with Veromia and Sincerity to support the British Industry Suppliers ‘BISCO’. We were entertained by the fabulous Steve Littlewood as Freddie Mercury and he really did rock us! We were also caught on camera by a fun photobooth provided by Booth Revolution.
RBA Awards
Monday night saw the annual RBA Awards at the Majestic hotel. We joined the cream of the bridal industry to celebrate the best of the best, as voted for by industry. Awards were picked up by readers favourites Dessy, Maggie Sottero, Ian Stuart, Cameron Ross and Ellis Bridals.
After a slight mishap, I nearly had to go this glitzy ball in my undies but I was saved at the last minute by the amazing Tony Bowls, who supplied me with a fabulous frock – Cinderella shall go to the ball!
Lucky brides across the country will be spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing their wedding gowns next year.
