This week lots of good things happened at Herd HQ, and having just finished an ironing marathon, I thought I’d tell you about them.
First of all, the Wedding Ideas Awards’ hype continues – all pictures of the event, from our three brilliant photographers are on the Wedding Ideas website. The website has had a bit of a facelift (I’m going to call it a small shot of botox) in preparation for its big overhaul.
We also got the on-stage video back from Shoot it Yourself and we’re really pleased with it. We’ll load it up to the site on Monday.
We’ve decided to have a winners’ party this summer at the Somerset County Cricket Club where we’ve had some of our best parties. This will be for Wedding Ideas Awards winners past, present and future, as well as those who were BORN winners. That should be most people covered.
We had the very best kind of news about our newsstand sales this week, too. More about that when the official body tells us it’s OK to spill the beans.
On Wednesday night half the herd travelled to Glastonbury to see Rob Deering, host of our awards do a gig. It was so good to see him again. He was the headline act, alongside three other comedians, including Bobby Mair. We casually suggested that they pop into the office to see us the next day on their way to Barnstaple for their next gig. When they did just that, we cracked open a magnum of Moet Chandon, and rustled up a chocolate cake. It was a real treat for us to see them.
Brand manager Pippa had a great week, including visits to cherished clients Maggie Sottero, a new boutique Just A Day in Ipswich, a great catch-up with David Bostock and Ellie Sanderson and evening with our good friend Bridal Coach Michele Paradise.
We did no less than three BBC radio interviews, gave quotes to the Daily Mail, Bridal Buyer and Rock n Roll Bride and welcomed our printers to Herd HQ, after which we headed for the pub. Standard.
I’m proud of all my giraffes, but this week I have to give special mention to my baby giraffe Lucinda who had a storming week. Well done Lu.
I’m also really proud of my own baby (who’s nine) who passed his next belt in Tae Kwon Do on Thursday, so all in all it’s been a GREAT week. Bring on the next one… DEADLINE WEEK.
