Not many people can say that in the space of 12 hours they presented two shows, went for a drink soirée in Harrods, was bought a bottle of wine in The May Fair Hotel by Jimmy Nesbitt and managed a pint in the pub with some of the QPR football team! And that was just the first 12 hours of what has been another really busy week as Brand Manager for Wedding Ideas. And I love it!
So let me go back to the beginning… The sun was shining and spring seems to have arrived! I met up with Rach Morgan and Martha Wall and we set off for the National Wedding Show. On arrival we whipped straight down to be one of the first to see this year’s catwalk show. Beautiful dresses floated down the catwalk. Lots of lace, ruffling and back detail were prominent trends this season. Stands, especially Ellie Sanderson, were bustling with brides trying on their favourite gowns and searching out the great offers and discounts to be had at the show. Even Chantelle Houghton and Alex Reid couldn’t resist! I met up with the lovely George Watts to help him with some filming for the Wedding Fairy Channel and I managed to grab a chat with wedding dress designer extraordinaire, Alan Hannah.
Check out my time at the show…
After catching up with some of our industry friends I headed over to Harrods for the Inspire 101 champagne reception, organised by the fabulous Cedar Events. I mingled with award winning wedding experts, including the talented Yemi Osunkoya of Kosibah Bridal Wear, Pippa Mackenzie Photography, William Clarke Flowers and the fabulous Elizabeth’s Cake Emporium. The Singing Sopranos, who bought the room to life with their energy and beautiful voices, entertained us. As the event came to an end we were guided out through the ladies wear department, it was clothing heaven! After dark the shop is so peaceful, the rails of clothes were sleeping for the night. Because shopping was not on the cards, the only option was to proceed on for a nightcap, so along with Rachael from Trudy Lee and Alex Burns from For Your Eyes Only, off to The May Fair Hotel we went. Where we found Jimmy Nesbitt at the bar…
It was back to the office on Monday to see the lovely team at Herd HQ and to close yet another jam-packed issue of Wedding Ideas. The April issue is looking amazing with tons of do-it-yourself ideas and some beautiful fashion inspiration for brides and her maids. I also caught up with our talented web team, who are working hard on the brand new website, which is looking amazing! I’m so excited about the launch. We have big plans for this year and everyone is working hard to make these big changes happen.
The week ended with a visit to the new Health Quarter in Knightsbridge. Their aim is to bring wholesome glamour from the inside out! Claire and Rosie both specialise in nutrition so will consult you on the best diet and if needed supplements to bring your body to life from the inside. I am planning my consultation already!
Finally I headed over for a meeting at the stunning Horseguards Hotel and One Whitehall Place, which are located on the river Thames looking out over the London Eye. On a sunny spring day, the views were gorgeous. I was shown around their elegant event spaces, with six sizes to suit all types of functions. It’s the perfect spot for a chic city wedding!
Next week I am off to The Savoy and with the BBEH trade show looming we have lots of planning to do. But first, the weekend. Have a good one!
Lots of love
