Tell us about the company/brand?
We not only offer wedding ceremonies at Thomson, but also blessings at sea, renewal of vows and same-sex commitment ceremonies.
We continually work to source the best quality suppliers, offering the best products at affordable prices, so we can pass these savings on to our customers. We really can organise everything for our customers, from bands to favours, bridal cars to make-up artists. Whatever the request – no matter how original or unique – we will try our upmost to make it happen!
What do you think the key trends are for 2013?
Our weddings have got off to a great, positive start for 2013. We continually have a lot of requests for beach weddings. Our couples want to sink their toes into the sand while they say ‘I do’. Greece is proving very popular, I believe it’s the romance and intimacy of some of the small Greek islands that really make a wedding there so special.
Religious ceremonies are bouncing back for 2013, as we are seeing a return to people wanting a church wedding abroad. Destination wise, our couples are loving Mexico. They can’t wait to fly out to their big day on our new Dreamliner 787 planes, and we are the first in the UK to have these planes. On their very first flights out of the UK to Mexico and Florida we have a wedding party on each flight!
What does being one of the Wedding Ideas Awards 2013 sponsors mean to you?
We wholeheartedly believe that Wedding Ideas readers are Thomson customers. They are both independent, original and will not settle for second best.
They want quality products at affordable prices and we both offer that. Being part of these awards really does mean so much to us. Not only as a sponsor, which we think shows how much Wedding Ideas means to us, but also as a nominee. We love how Wedding Ideas puts its brides first, and is always thinking of new and innovative ways to excite them and give them new ideas. As you can tell, we’re very excited to be one of the Wedding Ideas Awards 2013 sponsors!

Tell us about you, Jo!
I got married myself this year in Cyprus, so I really can understand what our brides and grooms go through in the planning stages, as I have been there myself. I chose a wedding abroad as I wanted guaranteed sunshine, as well as a relaxed and intimate vibe. I loved that all our friends and family got to know each other before our big day and everyone was so relaxed and happy.
In everything I do for our brand, I keep the customer in mind. I think about how I felt, and what decisions I had to make. I hope this is reflected in some of the big changes in store for Thomson Weddings in 2013.
