Your wedding will pass in a flash, so it’s important that your photos are perfect and capture every detail of the day. Perhaps the most important thing to get right is your gown – and how you pose in it. Take a look at these wedding dresses with the wow factor from Forget Me Not Designs – which is your favourite?
Looking fantastic is easy once you are wearing the right dress but looking great in photos is another art all together. Here at Forget Me Not Designs, we’re no experts on photography but we have done our research and come up with a few tips from expert models, photographers and bloggers.
First up, angles are key. All the experts seem to agree on this, so don’t stand square on to the camera. Try to create shapes with the curve of your body and hips. Tilt your head and look beyond or above the camera rather than straight at it, or of course into the eyes of your beloved. If you are carrying a bouquet, rest your forearms on your hip bones so the bouquet is level with your skirt not up in front of your bodice.
Next, watch your feet. If you are wearing a short dress don’t forget to point your toes. One leg in front of the other works well or again create an angle with one knee bent and up on your toes.
Above all, enjoy yourself. Relax and have fun, giggle and smile with your eyes. Looking up will lengthen your neck and lose the double chin! Now take a look at our wow-factor dresses that will help turn you into a princess for the day…
You can have a lot of fun in a short dress, spinning and twirling your way through your guests and dancing all night long. It’s definitely not a dress to stand still in. The full circle 50’s skirt in silk organza and rock ‘n’ roll petticoats are the wow feature here.
Guipure lace hugs your curves to show off your stunning shape. Vintage detailing under the bust draws the eye and the camera to your smallest part, and the cut out shoulder straps frame and shape your face.
This gown has more of a red carpet look. The Russia braid lace and figure-hugging shape of this style are capped off with an illusion neckline of sequin and diamanté. If you have well-proportioned curves you will definitely have the wow factor in this dress.
This dress is all about the neckline, soft and flattering on the shoulders and cut from a silver threaded guipure lace, which is stunning by itself. The chiffon waist detail and vintage sparkle are the final wows here.
Set the scene for your period drama wedding in this gorgeous gown inspired by Downton Abbey. Beaded lace with tulle godets and a feather sash on the dropped waist adds length to the body and shape to the hips if you have a boyish frame.
Bias cut to fall from the bodice, this shape is soft and easy to wear. The beaded lace hem detail and cap sleeves are equal wow factors for this vintage design. Perfect for a civil ceremony in a country house.
