Thought your wedding dress was something you’d never wear again? Well, that’s where you’re wrong!
Essex-based bridal shop, Abigail’s Collection & The Groom’s Room are hosting an innovative and super exciting fundraiser event, and the theme? Wedding! Giving brides another chance to get in their wedding dress, this ‘Wear Your Wedding Dress Again’ Charity Party is being hosted at Prested Hall in Feering, Colchester on Sunday 15th November, all in aid of Help for Heroes.
Abi Neill, Business Owner of the multi award-winning bridal business, explains: “We first ran the event in 2013 – it was amazing! Brides constantly tell us that they would love to wear their wedding dresses again. Over the years, I can honestly say I’ve heard it virtually every week.
“These party’s all about raising funds for Help for Heroes, and it gives us the very best excuse to dust off our dresses, pop back on our tiaras and get together for a really fab wedding dress do.
“Prested Hall are amazing joint-hosts; it is the perfect setting as many of our brides actually get married there. It’s going to be a memorable evening for many brides and their friends once again, and we’ve even got a seriously brilliant called ‘The Hot Shots’ playing at the party, too!
“The best bit? We’re going to be raising money for this brilliant charity – last time we raised £3,000. This time, we’re determined to raise even more!”
Chavasse VC House forms part of the Defence Recovery Capability, a recovery centre run by Help For Heroes based in the Garrison town of Colchester. The Recovery Centres are there to inspire, enable and support our wounded, injured or sick military service men, women and their families. The centres provide a launch pad-to-life where the wounded and their families can access psychological, financial and employment support.
So what can you expect from this exciting ‘all for a great cause’ dress party? Rob Neill, husband and joint business owner tells us: “We’re lucky enough to work with some amazing wedding suppliers and we’ve been overwhelmed again by their generosity and support for this exciting charity event.
“Along with a luxury raffle, bubbly, canapés and heart and Soul’s indulgent cupcakes (served by rather handsome buff Butlers in the Buff) we are pretty sure that guests will enjoy a very memorable evening. The dress code is strictly wedding dresses and tuxedos and we are all so excited about the event“.
