Vicki and Mike opted for a relaxed, boho wedding with touches of vintage magic! They chose a pastel peach and mint colour scheme and we love it…
After travelling together, creating some everlasting memories Mike found the sweetest way to propose to his Vicki. The beautiful bride got home from work one day and found their flat was covered in post-it notes, each one a clue to find the next. First she was led to champagne, then flowers and then finally to an empty ring box. When she turned to ask Mike what was going on he was already down on one knee with the ring in his hand!
So the couple got to planning, Vicki wanted a dress that wasn’t too formal, but more relaxed for their celebrations. She headed to Weston-Super-Mare and picked out an Alan Hannah Mia Mia gown which had high capped sleeves and gorgeous appliqué – perfect for her boho look! Her two bridesmaids, best friend Melanie and cousin Sarah got to choose their own dresses because Vicki didn’t really care about the ‘everything must match’ look.
Mike opted for a laid back grey wool suit they found in Next, adding a white shirt and wool tie to finish. Vicki’s mum, who’s always been there for the bride, walked her down the aisle and friend Mel read a poem called Lovely Dinosaurs, from a book Mike had bought for his bride. This couple had music from one of their favourite films, Fantastic Mr Fox playing when they were signing the register. The speeches had everyone laughing, especially Vicki’s dad’s, who also offered some lovely words of advice for the couple.
Vicki knew straight away she didn’t want a formal big day, and so the couple went for a relaxed vintage theme with hints of mint green and peach throughout. With the venue looking beautiful by itself, they knew they didn’t need to dress it too much, adding tea cups, and jam jars as centre pieces. Auntie Liz did the flowers and the stunning cake was made by Mike’s mum, adding two lovebirds that Vicki hand stitched herself. This thrifty bride even made all the pretty stationery, too!
