As the weather warms up and the days are getting longer we can’t help but look forward to the spring and summer weddings ahead. Moving away from autumnal shades, we love embracing colour in the warmer months. Sorbet shades are perfect for an English country garden wedding while bright colour pops work well for festival-style celebrations.

The new gowns are perfect for brides looking to dress their maids in different looks while keeping to a complementary colour palette. All four colours work equally well mixed together as they do on their own, so why not choose a different shade for each girl?

To celebrate the new shades, have created four moodboards to provide you with bridal inspiration covering fashion, décor, flowers and sweet treats. Head on over to our Pinterest boards for further inspiration.

So far this year we’ve seen a huge trend emerging with lots of brides choosing to dress their maids in two or more complementary colours, a great way of highlighting a maid of honour or special member of the bridal party. Popular combinations include heather and platinum or one of our traditional favourites, rosewater and slate – a combination chosen by Olympic heroine Victoria Pendleton for her own nuptials last summer.

Rainbow combinations are also becoming more popular with brides. We love this look because it is a great way of choosing dresses to suit different hair and skin tones. We are definitely seeing braver brides making bolder statements this year – they’re not shy of injecting a little colour, indicative of a move away from vintage we would say!

In keeping with this demand we have just launched our new grooms’ collection, which offers a range of ties, bow ties, cravats, cummerbunds and pocket squares, available in a range of shades to complement each of our bridesmaid and flowergirl dresses. That age-old dilemma of colour matching your best girls to your men is no longer an issue!
