To kick off the Indian-themed celebrations, the bride-to-be and her bridesmaids arrived in style at Elmwicke Farm, a rural campsite in the Cotswolds, in a vintage Indian Ambassador car bedecked with flowers.
The hen party’s base for the afternoon and evening was a luxuriously furnished Cotswold Bells bell tent, decorated for the occasion with vintage silk sari fabrics.
The fun began with a Bollywood dancing lesson, choreographed to the song Jai Ho (from the Slum Dog Millionaire soundtrack). Professional dance teacher, Ann Blagden, from Egyptian Spirit, dressed the group of hens with coin belts, silk scarves and a bindi on their foreheads, to get them into the mood.
There was a lot of laughter as the girls tried to master the steps, which resulted in an impressive performance an hour later. The idea being, they could carry on practicing and perform the dance at the wedding. We love it!
For some well-earned relaxation, the group was treated to an Indian head massage demonstration, inside their beautifully decorated tent, by professional holistic therapist Amy Blacker. Then each of the women tested out their newly learned skills on each other – a truly relaxing way to finish the afternoon.
