Distance was no object for this bride, Cindy, who flew halfway across the world to find her dream dress for her summer wedding to Daniel.
How they met
The flames of romance burned from Cindy and Daniel’s very first date, at a Bonfire Night celebration. “Dan was so funny, friendly, warm, honest and good-mannered – exactly the sort of man I had always dreamed of marrying,” Cindy smiles.
The proposal
Daniel organised a secret weekend away for his bride-to-be. “He took me to Chatsworth House, which I had always wanted to visit, and proposed in the ground next to the pond,” Cindy says. “Although I knew he would ask me one day, I was surprised he had chosen such a beautiful and romantic place.”
The bride’s outfit
Cindy knew exactly where she would find the right dress for her special day. “My mum and I flew to Suzhou in China, which has thousands of bridal shops in one place,” she explains. She chose a fishtail style in lace with delicate sparkle and flower appliqués, and wore it with a silver and crystal tiara and peeptoe shoes customised with pearl brooches.
The groom’s outfit
Daniel wore a three-piece suit with traditional tailcoat, rented from Jon Paul. “He looked very smart and handsome, which made me even more excited to be marrying him,” Cindy says.
The bridesmaids
Cindy designed beautiful rose pink gowns for her three bridesmaids, and had them custom made in China.
The ceremony
Cindy and Daniel exchanged their vows in a religious ceremony at All Saints Church, Sandon. “When I arrived at the church with the wedding bells ringing, I was so nervous and excited at the same time,” Cindy recalls. “Walking down the aisle and see Dan standing there waiting for me, I couldn’t believe that I was about to be married to this wonderful man.”
The reception
Cindy and Daniel opted for a classic and elegant wedding theme with a rose, peach and champagne colour scheme and live classical music. “Sandon Hall was so stunning and fitted our theme perfectly,” Cindy explains. In recognition of Cindy’s heritage, the guests were given chopsticks personalised with the couple’s names as favours.
The honeymoon
The newlyweds enjoyed a luxurious honeymoon in the beautiful Maldives.
