The proposal

Jenna first met Paul in the pub where she worked. After months of asking her out, Paul finally took Jenna on their first date. Paul popped the question when the couple were on holiday in New York. “One evening we went to the top of the Empire State Building but I wanted to go inside as I was so cold!” Jenna explains. “He persuaded me to stay out a bit longer and then got down on one knee. I wasn’t expecting it at all”

The bride’s outfit

Jenna’s dress was made by Amanda Kim Bridal Designs. The off-white satin gown had a pretty lace overlay with clear sequin details. “I felt so elegant. The dress was beautiful and I couldn’t wait to see Paul’s face,” Jenna remembers. She accessorised with hair clips she’d bought in Barcelona and her shoes were her ‘something blue’.

The bridesmaids

The bride’s five year old niece, Summer, was her only bridesmaid. She wore a pretty floral lace dress with bow detailing on the front from BHS. “When she tried it on she said she felt like a bride,” Jenna smiles.

The ceremony

Jenna and Paul had a religious ceremony and her dad walked her down the aisle. “When the vicar pronounced us man and wife it was such a great feeling. I think we were both just pleased we didn’t mess up any of our lines!” says Jenna.

The reception

Paul’s romantic groom’s speech was a reception highlight for Jenna. “I was really proud of him as he’s quite a shy person, but he made everyone laugh, especially when he thanked me for writing the speech!” she laughs.

The details

This pretty wedding had accents of purple and a ‘buttons and bunting’ theme. They decorated the beams with beautiful country-style bunting and the tables were adorned with cream watering cans and antique silver lights. The couple gave chocolate lollies to the children and champagne truffles to the adults as favours.
