Best Bridal Designer – Charlotte Balbier

Third generation bridal designer, and new bride herself, Charlotte Balbier’s contemporary take on the wedding dress caught the judge’s imagination. Celebrating her 10th anniversary this year, Charlotte’s collection is now stocked in over 40 boutiques nationwide. She takes the crown from last year’s winner Sassi Holford.


Best Bridal Manufacturer – Justin Alexander Bridal

Stylish, affordable and effortlessly elegant, Justin Alexander’s collection stood out as the winner for both the judges and our real brides alike. With figure-flattering designs to suit every type of wedding ceremony, these expert manufacturers have taken the top spot for 2014.


Best Plus-Size Collection – Julietta by Mori Lee

Shape-enhancing silhouettes at a great price point – Mori Lee’s beautiful plus-size collection, Julietta won the judges’ hearts this year. With clever corsetry and the prettiest embellishments this collection really stood out from the crowd.


Best Bridal Retailer – Isabella Grace

One-to-one personalised service, a relaxed atmosphere and an incredible range of top designer names, Isabella Grace has scooped Best Bridal Retailer this year. The judges said that the boutique ‘is in tune with now, and understands and implements the wow!’ High praise indeed…


Best Bridesmaids Collection – twobirds Bridesmaid

Winners for a second year, twobirds Bridesmaid have claimed the prize of Best Bridesmaids Collection for their innovative wrap dresses that look stunning on any shape. With a great range of colours and lengths available, the brand is going from strength to strength as we enter the new year.


Best Groomswear – Cameron Ross

Groomswear specialists Cameron Ross have held onto their crown thanks to their amazing service and quality formalwire. Their Outfit Builder on the website is especially useful for grooms needing inspiration for their big day look.


Best Bridal Accessories – Flo & Percy

Accessory experts Flo & Percy have come up trumps again with a gorgeous collection of oh-so-pretty and ultra wearable bridal details. The judges commented that they have added value to the brand by championing partnerships with other prestigious brands and personalities like Una and Rochelle from The Saturdays.


Best Bridal Shoes – Rainbow Club

Style on a budget and an unrivalled colouring service gave Rainbow Club the upper hand once again this year. A true win-win combination. Boasting styles to suit every ceremony – from the country house to the beach – Rainbow Club are at the top of their game.

Best UK Wedding Venue – Leez Priory

This magnificent Tudor mansion has everything you could want in a fairytale wedding venue – beautiful ceremony rooms, 40 acres of picture-perfect parkland and more. And all this, coupled with Country House Weddings’ outstanding service is an unbeatable package.

Best Entertainment – Rock My Reception

This two-piece, acoustic band won the judges vote for their sheer hard work and passion. Offering a range of packages to suit all budgets, the duo can personalise your wedding entertainment with your choice of songs played live throughout the day.


Best Photographer – Sarah Legge Photography

As well as her stunning wedding pictures, the judges picked up on Sarah’s personable, friendly approach which also made her a favourite with the real brides, too. Her images have delighted us in Wedding Ideas this year, and we’re sure they will continue to do so for many years to come.


Best Stationery – Sarah Wants

The judges described Sarah Want as an inspiration, and commended her from starting her business in her heart and working hard to achieve outstanding results in year one. Real brides loved her quirky, homemade style of stationery consistently featured in the Details and Theme pages of Wedding Ideas.

Best Special Touches – Wedding in a Teacup

It’s often the little details that get noticed at a wedding, and Wedding in a Teacup provide the best in the UK! They design items in their Brighton studio and source fab finishing touches from all around the UK… And they have stoeln the judges’ hearts this year. A big well done to a lovely team.


Best Provider of Honeymoons and Weddings Abroad – Sandals

The all-inclusive experts are still number one at delivering luxury at affordable prices. Real brides loved the extras included with the packages and the sheer number of theme options available at these picture-perfect Caribbean resorts.


Best Hen & Stag Party Provider – UKGirlThing

A new category for 2014, Best Hen & Stag Party Provider has been scooped by UKGirlThing. Fighting off stiff competition, UKGirlThing won the real brides’ votes for their sheer number of affordable packages. They also loved the Create Your Own option on the website, which allows hens to create a really personalised experience.


Best Gift List – Prezola

Present specialists Prezola impressed the judges with their sustained growth and their ability to attract big name brands like Monsoon, Liberty London and Heal’s while keeping a fresh approach to the market.

After the main awards, the Special Recognition Award was announced and this year it was scooped by stationery expert Lucy Ledger.

“It’s one thing to be admired by your clients, but it takes something very special to be adored by your peers too, which Lucy Ledger has achieved in a relatively short amount of time,” says editor of Wedding Ideas, Jade Pearson. “She has single-handedly managed to turn a pipe dream into a reality, becoming an inspiration to so many.”


“With a background in graphic design and illustration and a love of all things pretty, she launched her wedding stationery company in 2010 from her Studio in Ecclesfield. In three short years she has already worked with over 600 couples to create their dream wedding stationery, and has built up a portfolio of graphic and web clients, as well as an abundance of greeting card stockists.”

“Her work is so impressive that she has won several awards, including the Wedding Ideas Award in 2012 for Best Wedding Stationery, voted for by the very people who she has helped along the way.”

“Lucy has even helped other up-and-coming designers by launching another business venture – The Paper Girls. These brilliant workshops are designed to help others become as successful as she has, offering a masterclass in design, print and business.”

The awards were presented by the amiable Francine Lewis who lead the way with laughter at her fantastic impressions. The awards then followed and congratulations to all the fabulous winners!
