At March’s Bridal Week London, one of the biggest bridal events in the trade calendar, Maggie Sottero Designs, Morilee and Ronald Joyce each took to the runway to host their own private Fashion Shows. We take a closer look at the designers’ best wedding gowns.
Maggie Sottero Designs
Retailers were treated to a glimpse at over 100 dresses from the Maggie Sottero, Rebecca Ingram and Sottero & Midgley 2023 collections.
Their latest designs promoted inclusivity and body positivity, and showcased a selection of gowns to flatter all silhouettes. From full ballgowns to form-fitting mermaid styles, each design brought individuality and elegance to ensure that the brides who wear them feel powerful and beautiful on their big day.
A wide range of intricate laces made an appearance on the Maggie Sottero runway, along with big sleeves and A-line skirts: though it was one dress in particular, a striking scarlet dress, that made a bold statement and caught every eye with its sleek satin and ruched bodice.
Morilee’s latest ‘Rhapsody Collection’ is inspired by the whimsical yet sophisticated style of the Regency Era.
Their selection of gowns truly embraced the meaning of romance, showcasing sweeping trains, full flowing skirts, floral embroidery and sweetheart necklines. Each gown looked and felt luxurious coming down the runway, incorporating the finest fabrics and cutting-edge craftsmanship.
The Gwendolyn 1086 gown from the Madeline Gardner Signature collection gown proved a stand-out design, with its sheer detachable bishop sleeves and sparkle applique.
Veni Infantino also showcased her latest collection on this year’s runway. With gorgeous A-line ball gowns, intricate lace high-necks and elegant long sleeves, the collection also featured plenty of detachable sleeves and overskirts, where each bride can personalise their dress to suit their big day.
Each dress was memorable and distinctive, and shook up the traditional for a more contemporary chic look. Ruffles were a big hit on the Ronald Joyce runway, as were sophisticated high-necks and waist detailing.
Ronald Joyce also experimented with colour and pattern, ending the runway with a blue, sweetheart-neckline ballgown, adorned with pink floral embellishment and matching sheer cape.
