Where we made our editor choose a wedding from every issue of Wedding Ideas in 2016!

January brought us the classically elegant wedding of Maria and Simon. I guess I am a traditionalist at heart, but I love to see any wedding done well, and this was a great example of that. Such sweet flowers!

In the February issue I loved Fiona and Tom. I can imagine being their friend and it was one of those weddings that I felt like I should have been at. Fiona is lucky enough to be friends with the designer, Kyri, and her dress was stunning.

I’ve never been one for matchy matchy weddings, so Gillian and Travis’s big day featured in our March issue was right up my alley! Colourful bridesmaids, flowers and reception décor, there was nothing dull about this, at all!

Pretty as a peony, Zoe and Matt’s big day in our April issue was planned to absolute perfection. The barn at New House Farm was transformed into a magical wonderland of bunting and twinkling lights, with no stone unturned. Simply, WOW!

May was totes emosh! Lydia and Simon’s bright a sunny wedding featured sunflowers in memory of Lydia’s sister. I always remember the weddings most if the story has moved me. I am so grateful for being given a small insight into the lives of our lovely couples.

June brought us the colourful fun-filled wedding of Laura and James – another one we wish we had been at, for those space hoppers, egg and spoon races and that menu, full of things we love to eat. What fun!

Sam and Matthew in our July issue had us crying tears of joy – how they met, how they fell in love, and the story of the first dance. Never mind their choice of attire. We felt such an emotional connection with this wedding and still talk about it now!

In the August issue, Holly and Paul’s venue – Gosfield Hall – is one of our all-time favourites! Holly was such a pretty bride, and we loved all the details that she thought of, many of which to make sure that all of her guests had the best day ever.

Destination weddings are always a hit with us, and Shelly-Anne and Paul’s Ayia Napa celebrations in our Special issue were no different. I love the bright vibrancy to the photographs that you only seem to get abroad. And of course, that sun-setting shot always frames a special day.

September brought us our cover star Jay, quite the most stunning bride, who also got married to her beau overseas, in Ibiza. So stylish, so chic, Jay could easily be a supermodel but we are told that she actually has a very different kind of job… Jay also introduced us to Anna Fowler, the photographer who now shoots our front covers for the magazine!

It rained on Katie and Sam’s day (October issue) but it didn’t matter a jot – in fact, the photographs are sensational! We loved Katie’s Sincerity dress, with its lace detailing and full skirt. She wore her hair in a chic chignon – we love everything about her look!

In our November issue, Hayley and Ross were another colourful couple. I love colour! An origami backdrop, garden games and fete-style feel to the reception made it look like so much fun. The venue – Ickworth Hotel made the perfect venue.

December brought us a wonderful Welsh wedding – Kirsty and Adrian had such a fun day, inspired by some floral wrapping paper (yes, really!). We loved their celebrations in a tipi, and the fact that there were smiles and laughter in almost every photo!

Here’s to another year of incredibly uplifting REAL weddings and couples that continue to inspire beautiful wedding ideas… We can’t wait to see what 2017 has to bring with the brand new A4 size magazine on sale on the 21st December!
