How did you both meet?
We met back in 2012. I’m an architect and Ditho had been a client. I renovated his whole house but it wasn’t until I completed the project that we decided to start dating – though there was an attraction there the whole time!
How did the proposal happen?
It was at a New Year’s Eve celebration in Singapore. Ditho asked me to marry him on top of a giant swing at Clarke Quay, I was so shocked but said yes of course – as soon as we got down! He gave me a diamond ring which is really beautiful.
I fell in love with Priyo Oktaviano’s designs after working on his showroom. Priyo designed an exclusive ivory gown with cross-over detail on the bodice and long train for me which fitted beautifully and accentuated my figure.
Ditho wore a custom suit from Brillington & Brothers in Jakarta and was every inch the groom of my dreams!
My five best friends were my bridesmaids. Marcella, Gita, Sikastiara, Adinda and Chrisye. They all wore pastel coloured dresses made from fabric I had sourced and then given to a dressmaker to sew. The bridesmaids were all able to customise the styles to suit their own body shapes.
My father walked me down the aisle before Ditho and I exchanged vows during a religious ceremony in the chapel at the Conrad in Bali. My husband’s brother provided the music during the signing of the register and doves were released at the end.
My friend made all the stationery because he has his own design company called Sosj Design in Jakarta and we hired wedding planner Kenisha Wo from Bride Story and Lotus as our wedding styling team. Both companies were a delight to work with and took all the stress out of the big day away not only from Ditho and I but our family and friends too so we could just enjoy everything. We used a hashtag for friends to post pictures online.
What did you have for your Wedding Breakfast?
The Conrad provided a lavish Balinese banquet for all the guests.
We used an abundance of flowers to fill the venue in creams and peaches. We tied carnations to all the chair backs and the floral centre pieces were arranged in assorted sized vases, pots and bottles in keeping with the vintage theme.
Ixora Cakes in Bali are world-renowned for making the tastiest cakes. I loved our three- tiered, white-iced wedding cake which was decorated with fresh flowers to match our decor.
All the guests were presented with gorgeous aromatherapy scented candles.
Kenisha helped organise a photobooth, popcorn bar and hire bar as the reception took place outdoors in the evening. There were lots of chill out seating areas. DJ Dipha Barus and Archie played all our favourite party songs and we all danced non-stop until the early hours!
