Where has this week gone? From relaxing spas and men’s suits to our very first reader evening, it really has been a week of everything wedding! It all started in the relaxation of Careys Manor hotel and spa.
Now, if I haven’t told you already, my best friend gets married in July so we are now moving into major panic mode. If it’s not seating plans and name cards it’s the exciting and imminent delivery of her gorgeous Madeline Isaac-James dress! So, to prepare for the forthcoming celebrations, I decided to take her away for a relaxing break to forget about the stresses of a baby, a job and of course, the wedding! The SenSpa at Careys Manor really is the perfect place to unwind and forget about the rest of the world. It’s set in the most beautiful setting, right in the heart of the New Forest. They are fully equipped with the most amazing spa facilities and the treatments were heavenly.

Fully relaxed and ready for the week ahead, it was time to prepare for our very first Wedding Ideas Exclusive Reader Event. The event took place at the stunning Royal Horseguards Hotel. We had the chance to meet with our lovely brides to show them a sneak peek of the brand new website, which launches in only two weeks! They were also treated to a selection of fabulous beauty treatments, Champagne, cookies and we were joined by a selection of top industry suppliers. It’s always such a joy to meet with our brides and to hear such positive feedback.
The next day I popped along to the Gentleman’s Tonic salon in Mayfair, a man’s haven and a great place for him to go for a bit of pampering. I was there to see the Hugh Harris groomswear collection. The winners of this year’s Wedding Ideas groomswear category did not disappoint with strong tailoring and fabulous fabrics – they are number one for our boys.

From the boys to the girls! Wednesday night was the exciting launch of the brand new Mae bridal collection by the very talented Johanna Hehir. I went along to the Marylebone store where I met with Johanna who talked me through this gorgeous new selection of gowns. Inspired by her daughter and full of fresh, pretty, feminine styles and fabrics at an affordable price of just £1000- £1500, this collection is going to be a huge hit with our brides and we can’t wait to see it featured in the July issue of Wedding Ideas!
My week ends with a visit to the office to catch up with the rest of the Wedding Ideas team. The July is nearly ready to go and with only two weeks to the launch of our brand new Wedding Ideas website, it is looking amazing! I am already stocking up on Champagne for the team who have worked their socks off to get it done. This weekend launches the White Gallery and London bridal show. I will be joining our Editor Rachel to have a look at the new bridal collections for the next season and to find out what’s new in the world of wedding fashion… I look forward to reporting back next week!
Happy weekend!
