The Wedding Ideas Awards 2014 started with a bang by announcing once of the most hotly contested prizes – Best Wedding Stationery – which this year was won by Sarah Wants. Let’s hear what Sarah has to say about her win…
“I’m still on cloud 9 and don’t ever want to come down!” says Sarah, known for her whimsical rustic wedding stationery style. “When my name was read out I just went into complete shock mode and my brain turned to mushy peas!”
“I felt like I was in a little bubble and it was all a bit of a blur but luckily my body took over and my legs managed to walk me up to collect the award.”
So what was it like collecting her award on the night? “The lady from The Wedding Gateway put her arm around me for the photo and said ‘oh my god; you’re shaking!’ YEP! Adrenaline, excitement, happiness, smiles and the shakes!”
“All the support, features and mentions in Wedding Ideas have catapulted my little business into the limelight. To end the year as an award finalist was an amazing achievement but to have actually won just blew me away.”
“The whole awards night felt like a bit of a dream, it was so magical to be in the shadows of the beautifully lit Tower Bridge and those amazing LOVE lights outside. When I found my name on the table plan and I was on number 23 – my birthday. Fate or meant to be?!”
Sarah is one of Lucy Ledger’s original Paper Girls – the business that offers one-day practical and inspirational workshops for new paper and print businesses who are starting out in the wedding stationery or greetings market.
“I’m so pleased that Lucy Ledger got the Special Recognition award – I couldn’t think of anyone that deserves it more! She is a ledge; I’m going to be sending her a massive thank you, too.”
