Christine and Chad had their real wedding at St Mary’s Church, Alverstoke, Gosport in December 2007.
How they met
Christine’s best friend was going out with Chad’s best friend. They knew each other for about two years before romance blossomed.
Proposal
Chad proposed to Christine while they were on holiday in France.
The bride’s real wedding outfit
Christine bought her Mori Lee by Madeline Gardner dress from Susan’s in Gosport, Hampshire. In a beautiful shade of pearl Christine’s strapless dress featured pretty embroidery across the bodice, flowing out into an A-line skirt.
Jewellery
As the dress had such pretty detail at the top Christine kept her jewellery simple with a Swarovski necklace, earrings and bracelet set.
He wore
Hired from Moss Bros, the stylish morning suits were a great complement to Christine’s dress in a dark navy blue. Chad wore a cream waistcoat with a gold cravat and the groomsmen wore red cravats.
Bridesmaids
The five bridesmaids wore red 1950’s style dresses. The flower girl looked pretty in her ivory dress.
Flowers
Christine’s real wedding bouquet consisted of cream Vandal roses, the bridesmaids carried red bouquets to match their dresses.
Reception
The colour scheme for the real wedding was Ivory and Gold and the decor was very classic and beautiful. I had tall vases in the middle of the tables with Vandal roses and in the roses were lights so that all the tables lit up. There was a butterfly around each wine glass and chocolate hearts in all the champagne glasses and the name places were stones which were sprayed in gold so looked like gold nuggets.
Cake
A delicious three-tier creation by Purita Hyam the milk chocolate cake in the Chatsworth style was decorated with Vandal roses and finished with a bride and groom on top – with Chad in his Portsmouth football kit!
Favours
Men had mini port bottles in a box and the women had a solid silver heart wine stopper.
Music
At the wedding breakfast a group called Flynn’s Music entertained the guests and in the evening they had a band called Rufus Stone.
Special touches
“A gold twig tree held cards which were personalised for each guest and inside were lottery tickets and a personal message from Chad and I. Also we had a Well wishes video booth – everyone left a personal message. Chad and I also made sure we took time out to exchange wedding gifts, reflect on the day and have a glass of champagne together as Mr and Mrs Horne.”
Bride and Groom tips
“Try to really enjoy planning the wedding and take everything in – especially on the day as it goes so quickly. Try to stay together as much as you can through out the day as you get split up a lot.”
Honeymoon
Christine and Chad spent an amazing three months travelling around the world visiting Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, and America.
