How they met

Louise and Richard were introduced in a pub by a mutual friend and it went from there.

The proposal

Richard proposed to Louise on Christmas day at her parents house with her family there. He gave her the ring wrapped in a sugar box, proposing once she had opened it.

She wore

Louise’s gorgeous dress was from the Pronovias range. The long sleeves were made from Spanish lace, encrusted with tiny crystals and pearls. The lace continued around the bust line with the beautiful crystals and pearls sewn onto the front of the dress.

For her real wedding abroad, Louise wore a tiara which was her “something borrowed” from her mum and a beautiful veil. She wore a matching necklace and earrings set by Monet and her fabulous shoes were bought in BHS.

He wore

Richard hired all of the attendants suits from Jonathan Daniels in Douglas. They wore dark grey pinstripe trousers with a black frock coat. Richard and his best mans cravat were made in the same material as the bridesmaids dresses.

The bridesmaids

Louise had seven bridesmaids, the five adult ones had amazing dresses made from Kandola silk. They were in different designs to suit their shape and style but each dress was united by the fantastic colour. Louise’s mum lovingly made the dresses and marabou shrugs. The two flower-girls wore dresses from Debenhams with pretty ivory cardigans from BHS.

Louise and her dad were driven to the church in a Rolls Royce Phantom III. Louise and Richard had also arranged a fab surprise for the guests who were collected from the hotel and taken to the church in vintage coaches.

The cake

richard-louise-1The cake was an amazing four tier fruit cake decorated in ivory icing and edible glitter.

The favours

Louise and Richard gave Christmas tree baubles to their guests. They were placed in a vase that was nestling in a Christmas wreath. Louise wrote on a small card which was placed on top of the baubles asking guests to help themselves to the ‘favours’.

The real wedding abroad theme

The theme was based around snow and ice. Louise wanted to keep away from the gold’s and reds of Christmas so approached it from a different angle.

Brides tip

“Try and make some of the things yourself, you save loads of money. I made all the place names and did the decoration for the cake. I also bought the vases for the table decorations in a department store sale.”

Special moment

richard-louise-4“Being called Mrs Beech felt lovely. I loved looking around the church at all our friends and family and knowing they were there because they are happy for us.”

The honeymoon

Louise and Richard spent a fun filled week skiing in Canada. They stayed at the amazing Chateau Fairmont Lake Hotel.
