Today we’ve asked our real brides to share with us some of the fab bridesmaid gift ideas they gave to say a great big thank you to their helpers.

The most popular wedding gift idea for brides to give their bridesmaids is of course their bridesmaid dresses and jewellery – this is particularly special if you want all you girls to look the same. Our Details Editor Sophie says: “I gave my three girls their navy bridesmaids dresses from Coast, which they wore on the day, and also gift wrapped their jewellery which I gave to them on the morning of the wedding. It’s a really special part of the day where you can all relax together before the madness begins!”
Another very popular bridesmaid gift idea (that’s win win for all!) is a day at the spa. After all the stresses of wedding planning, we strongly suggest you take the week off before the wedding to completely chill out and relax. Two days before the wedding is NOT the time to be doing last minute shopping, so make sure you have everything done and dusted with time to spare. Why not use that week off for some pampering with your best girls – treat them to a spa day and you’ll all be fresh-faced and relaxed come the wedding morning. Real bride Liz did just that; “I took my bridesmaids to a local spa the day before the wedding we had mini-facials as well as our nails done – it was the perfect time to drink a glass of Champagne and get excited together about the following day!”
Keep the little ones entertained
“We had lots of little ones at our wedding who all sat on their own table for the wedding breakfast,” explains Rachel. “We bought a children’s puppet theatre and lots of little finger puppets based on the story Little Red Riding Hood and left it on their table. Within minutes all the kids had settled down and were re-enacting the story with the puppets – giving their parents some well needed peace and quiet,” she laughs.
Similarly, you may only be having young children or flower girls accompany you down the aisle, so will need to consider a gift appropriate to their age. For little girls we love Build A Bear – they can create their own stuffed toy – complete with adorable wedding outfits to match their own! Little boys of course love cars, a remote controlled car would be a great idea, especially if your reception venue has a big garden where they can play safely to their hearts content – without driving over Grannies toes or knocking over a glass of wine!
Personalised bridesmaid gift ideas
“I made my bridesmaids a really unique ‘photo-book’ using VistaPrint. There were photos of our time growing up, and our friendship together, as well as some truly fabulous shots from my incredible burlesque themed hen-party which they organised,” says Zoe.
Another really lovely idea would be to buy your bridesmaids something personalised – either with their name on or with your wedding date engraved. These are much more permanent gifts that will be remembered long after the wedding. A great idea would be to frame a cherished photo of you with that person, and have the wedding date or a special message engraved to the frame.
