The beautiful Tournerbury Estate on Hayling Island was the setting for this gorgeous styled shoot – Purple Fun in the Woods – created by the lovely Cheryl from bridesmaid specialist Eliza Mabel, and a host of other top wedding suppliers. We’ll let Cheryl explain…
“Yes, it was a gloriously sunny day on Hayling Island to show off the stunning Tournerbury Estate, a unique marquee wedding location in the Chichester harbour on the Hampshire and West Sussex border.”
“The location offers seclusion and privacy with its 50 acres of private woodland and a peaceful tidal creek in one of England’s most beautiful natural harbours.”
“As wedding suppliers, we are showing you what could be accomplished here, or at any similar location! We thought the pretty purple wedding theme would work perfectly with the woodland setting. Inside the marquee, the tables were set using high floral, low floral and wooden centrepieces offering alternative designs for styling your marquee wedding. These styles are formal, relaxed and rustic, each matching perfectly with the lavender-inspired stationery and ladder table plan.”
“The large hydrangeas and willow urns added colour to the table plan display, as well as made eye-catching entrance arrangements too! The soft delicate country garden flowers in the bouquets gave that ‘freshly picked’ look, which worked so beautifully at this type of venue, and complemented the styling of the young bridesmaids.”
“Macaroons, meringues, and chocolate lollies in purple tones make lovely favours idea, both formally, in a box, and more casually, as scattered as table decorations. They give off a picnic, or afternoon tea feel, especially when teamed with the vintage crockery and glassware that we had, bringing the outdoor and indoor areas together.”
“We had a fabric and ribbon backdrop outside, with birdcages, jam jar lights, and pom poms all making extra, interesting and pretty nooks of detail for the decoration!”
“We wanted a modern but pretty look for the bridesmaid dresses. The flowergirl wore two dresses – the first had a lovely lilac bodice with a soft lace overlay and wired netted skirt, and the second, ‘Fleur’, had beautiful diamante detailing on the tulle skirt, complete with a dark purple sash.”
“Our younger bridesmaid wore a full lace overlay dress, with a satin pleated sash in a gorgeous shade of purple, that looked so stunning with the woodland backdrop. The older bridesmaid wore a slightly shorter dress, with a matching lace overlay – showing that hot new trend of mismatched, but still coordinating, bridesmaids.”
