Whatever the reason, if you need to plan your wedding fast you’re probably starting to panic at least just a little (but probably quite a lot!). Fear not, here at Wedding Ideas we are all about helping you to create your dream day, whatever your timeframe for doing it, so we’ve put together our five top tips to plan your wedding fast and still make it fabulous!

Venue
If your wedding date is only a few calendar pages away and you’ve yet to book a venue, you might be starting to panic. Don’t fret – a dream venue is still possible if you’re flexible with the date. Look for last minute cancellations to fill. In wedding terms, this means booking a newly re-available date a few months in advance. You’ll often bag a reduced rate at the same time because the venue is keen to fill the space.

Dress
We always recommend buying from bonafide bridal boutiques, but a dress will usually require at least six months to be made to measure for you. If you’re having nightmares about a dress-less big day, you do still have options.
Many boutiques will have sample sales at various points throughout the year or offer their sample dresses for sale. While this means others will have tried your gown on, it still gives you the chance to get the genuine bridal designer dress you’ve been wishing for. Ask the boutique for their recommended seamstress as soon as you purchase to get any alterations completed within your limited timescale.

Stationery
You want your guests to get your wedding date pencilled in as soon as possible. Scrap the posted save the date cards and whizz out an email or phone call instead – it’ll save you time and money and, as you need to plan your wedding fast, your invitations will follow quickly so there’s much less need for a traditional save the date card.

Flowers
If you’re finding that florists in your area are all fully booked, it’s time to get creative. Use online tutorials or the guidance of green-fingered friends to put your own bouquet and arrangements together. Source your flowers from your local flower market for a wide choice of blooms – here’s your guide to blooms by month to help you choose.

Cake
This is another element of your wedding that you can DIY if you need to plan your wedding fast – but we have multiple ideas depending on your confidence when it comes to cake making!
If you’ve got a friend who is a brilliant baker, why not ask if they’d make your wedding cake as their wedding gift? If you don’t want to tackle a tiered cake yourself, why not try baking cupcakes with a single tier cake at the top? You can hire the stand from a local cake decorating shop to display them beautifully.
For the simplest solution to your cake woes, purchase a fondant covered cake from a supermarket like Marks and Spencer, then decorate with ribbons, fresh flowers or a personalised cake topper like these.
