During the closing ceremony, Olympic gold medalist Pete Reed found his girlfriend in the crowd, got down on one knee and popped the question.
Reed, who is currently in the Royal Navy and a former Oxford Blue, managed to find his way into the crowd during the ceremony and look for his girlfriend Frauke Oltmanns. With his team mates Alex Gregory, Tom James and Andrew Triggs-Hodge supporting him, he dropped to one knee and asked his girlfriend, in front a large crowd of people, to marry him. Reed told Daybreak: “I got engaged last night at the closing ceremony which was really nice.”
