Think you know wedding fayres? Think again! Last week, Wedding Ideas was invited to a brand new concept in fayres – Make Their Day – where a fictional couple, Sarah and Garry, got ‘married’ and the ‘guests’ could mingle with the wedding suppliers to find out how they all came together to create the perfect wedding.
Make Their Day was conceived by entertainment agency Sternberg Clarke as a way for couples and wedding planners to see their potential wedding suppliers in action, giving them a chance to touch, taste and experience their work in the context of a full wedding. The event was held at the stunning One Marylebone, one of the capital’s most breathtaking wedding venues.
“Make Their Day was a fantastic way to showcase the picture-perfect wedding created by some of London’s leading wedding suppliers,” says Wedding Ideas‘ Brand Director Pippa Ward. “This interactive new event allows couples to see how they can put their wedding together from top to toe. I loved the grass aisle decorated with flowers, which was re-used for the reception entrance. Also loved the Storm in a Tea cup cocktails, that came in a vintage cup and saucer, served with cute little cucumber sandwiches! Definitely a hot trend for summer weddings in 2014.”
In the lead up to the wedding, readers and guests were able to see the ‘Bride and Groom’ meet with their chosen suppliers in blogs and videos on MakeTheirDay.co.uk, allowing real brides and grooms to get an idea of how supplier meetings, tastings and consultations work.
Adam Sternberg of Sternberg Clarke says: “This is a totally unique concept that will revolutionise the traditional wedding fair. It gives suppliers the opportunity to show couples what they do, with a much wider scope for creativity and a realistic insight into what working with them is like.”
The list of suppliers who featured in the event reads as a who’s who of the wedding industry’s finest companies. They included Cutture – who provided the incredible laser-cut stationery – dress designer Sassi Holford, GC Couture, food experts Zafferano, top photographer Julia Boggio and many more.
