Masters of the perfect bridal silhouette, Maggie Sottero are known the world over for the exceptional cut and fit of their wedding dresses. They know that a gown has the power to boost a bride’s confidence on the big day. So when it came to sponsoring a category in the Wedding Ideas Awards 2014, there was only really one choice…

Who are you?

I’m Lyn Muselle from The Bridal Company Ltd, distributors for Maggie Sottero in the UK. We see every new Maggie gown in each collection and make sure all of our stockists have the right dresses in store, ready for the lovely b2bs to try on!

Which category are you sponsoring?

We’re sponsoring Best Plus-Size Collection. This is such an important category in the awards as it recognises the designers and manufacturers who are creating gorgeous gowns especially for plus-size brides. These brides don’t just want regular wedding dresses in larger sizes, they need clever corsets, thoughtful details and savvy silhouettes.

What’s great about the Wedding Ideas Awards?

Wedding Ideas is the only magazine that gives the real bride a voice, in order to vote for whom she truly believes is deserved of an award. I’m sure the Wedding Ideas Awards 2014 will also be an amazing party for the industry – such a fun event to look forward to in January!

What are your company’s plans for 2014?

The Maggie Sottero collection for 2014 calls out to today’s romantic bride who is seeking a modern twist on traditional styling.  Iconic elements of the 20s inspire the collection with neo-classic columns, dropped-waist Art Deco designs, slinky sheaths and jewellery-inspired beading.  Maggie Sottero celebrates vintage romance this season, so if you’re planning a chic, vintage-inspired day, check out the new gowns today!

What are your top three wedding planning tips?

Set a budget

Set your budget and try to stay true to it.  Decide on the things that you are not willing to compromise on, be it dress, venue, or type of service and determine how much of your budget should be set aside for those things.

Stay focused

Adopt a ‘nothing is impossible’ attitude, as you want to enjoy the planning of the day, as much as the day itself. If you see a Maggie Sottero gown that you love, but you’d like to make some basic changes, this can be arranged. Just speak with your local stockist to see what’s possible in  the time frame that you have.

Make a list

Prepare a list of everything that needs to be done, in order of importance, and tick things off as you go. You must have a clear idea of what is sorted, and what is still left to do. Use the free downloadable planning spreadsheets on the Wedding Ideas website to help you.
