Pretty, romantic, feminine and fabulous, Blush is the hottest wedding colour for 2014. Whether it’s on your shoes, your wedding dress, your bridesmaid outfits or in your details you need it in your life! Here’s why…
Blush is definitely having a ‘moment’ with designers like Sassi Holford and Vera Wang showing various blush designs in their collections this year. And it’s clear to see why brides have fallen head over heels for the colour of the season. Blush is much warmer than cream and ivory so is flattering on most skin tones, making it ideal for brides, bridesmaids and mums alike.
Trendsetting Gwen Stefani wore a blush gown right back in 2002 but it’s only been this year that the shade has really taken off, with celebrity brides like Anne Hathaway, Jessica Biel and Reese Witherspoon all choosing blush-coloured dresses over the more traditional white designs.
If you want your girls to rock this super shade, Kelsey Rose, Mori Lee, Enzoani and Jasmine have some of the best looks around. Blush works particularly well on spring and summer bridesmaids – give them posies of peonies and relaxed hairdos and you have the ultimate bridesmaid look for 2014.
And it’s not just wedding dresses that are flirting with this delicate hue. Rainbow Club’s Hassall bridal shoe collection has introduced an injection of colour with their Blush collection for the new year – a stunning group of beautiful blush nubuck leather styles with delicate metallic rose gold detailing.
“There are so many gorgeous inspiring gowns out there in subtle shades of pinks, nudes and rich creams, Hassall blush styles complement these hues beautifully but also look stunning with a classic ivory gown,” says designer Diane. “I love the way the shoes are so delicate, timeless and beautiful.”
“It’s an emerging trend with celebrities at the moment, so no doubt it won’t be long before more brides are opting for the non-traditional blush shade on their big day.”
Blush is even making its way on to wedding details. We love this stunning cake design from Cakes by Krishanthi and this pretty table number from Ditsy Chic. As you can see, the blush shade looks fab on its own or teamed with a statement colour, like the black ribbon here.
What do you think of this bridal shade? Would you have it as the colour theme for your big day? Or do you think it’s a bit too girly – would your man approve?
