Loren & Ollie tied the knot in a no-frills country house wedding. This wedding was low on gimmicks but big on class, with a vintage modern theme throughout the day.
How they met
Loren and Ollie first met in the nightclub that he managed, when Loren lost her handbag. “It was the beginning of a four-month spell where I lost a number of items in the club – my friends thought I was doing it on purpose!” Loren laughs.”Luckily for me, my absent-mindedness led to love.”
The proposal
Ollie proposed to Loren on a candlelit Thames dinner cruise to celebrate her 30th birthday. “It was so special, and definitely the best birthday ever,” smiles Loren. “I remember walking around London the next day in a daze.”
The bride’s outfit
Loren credits her bridesmaid, Rachel, with leading her to her perfect dress. “I was looking at plain, slim-fitting styles, but Rachel snuck a ‘princess dress’ into my pile when I wasn’t looking,” Loren explains. The stunning Mori Lee gown was fitted to the hip with a sweetheart neckline and a full skirt of beaded lace underneath crystal embellished net. Loren accessorised with a full-length scalloped veil, a side tiara by Nathalie French and platform-soled peeptoe shoes.
The groom’s outfit
Ollie and his groomsmen wore traditional tails hired from Frederick Mabbs. “Ollie was adamant that he was choosing his suit, and luckily, he chose exactly what I would have picked!” Loren says. “He looked incredible, as I knew he would.”
The bridesmaids
The three bridesmaids wore elegant V-necked gowns in praline satin from Kelsey Rose.
The ceremony
The couple got married in their local church. “My dad walked me down the aisle, beaming all the way, and when I got to the end, an emotional Ollie turned to look at me and said, ‘You look beautiful’,” Loren recalls.
The reception
The reception was held at Kingston Maurward, a majestic 17th-century house with opulent state rooms and formal gardens. “We created a modern vintage look with a lace, pearl, diamanté and ribbon and a dusky mink colour scheme,” Loren says. “We wanted to go back to basic – we didn’t have any fancy gimmicks or quirky ideas, just a traditional wedding day where our venue was the wow factor.”
The honeymoon
The newlyweds enjoyed a two-week all-inclusive honeymoon to Mexico.
