While they both worked for the same company, Lisa and Mike didn’t meet until Lisa took a trip to Mike’s branch… She was immediately attracted to him, even though he was five years younger than her. After dating and spending as much time together as possible Mike finally got down on one knee while they were in Las Vegas for Lisa’s 30th birthday. She refused to walk all the way up the Rialto Bridge steps but got a lovely surprise when they got to the top!
Lisa found her show-stopping Maggie Sottero gown in Blush Boutique. The ‘Dynasty’ dress features layers of pure white organza and a dropped waist with corseted strapless top. She added a vintage-style side comb, her jewellery was a gift from Mike and shoes were simple white ballerina pumps. Her maids and maid of honours wore white too! The dresses were bespoke, made by Sue Fairclough from The Wow Factor.
Lisa’s handsome groom and his groomsmen all wore classic white tuxedos and “not shiny” shoes, as instructed by Lisa, from Moss Bros. Lisa’s mum walked her down the aisle, making it a special moment. It was important for them to have a religious ceremony and the bride’s vicar even travelled to the church to give the service. At the reception, the speeches were emotional and heartfelt – one of Mike’s best men Liam provided some comedy while Lisa surprised her new hubby with a trip to Venice.
The theme was classic glam – the couple decided on a black and white colour scheme to stand out from the shabby chic weddings that Lisa had seen before. The pretty white flowers were provided by the team from The Flower Shop and the yummy four-tier cake was made by the “wonderful girls” at Vanilla Cake Shop. Favours for the ladies were black and white damask candles and the men were given miniature Jagermeisters, with giant Jenga and dominos to keep guests busy.
