LISA + GERAINT
TRADITIONAL & CLASSIC | LARKSPUR BLUE + PEACH | CHAPEL WEDDING
WHITE + PINK PEONIES | GROOMSMEN NAVY SUITS + IVORY | STRING QUARTET
Lisa first laid eyes on Geraint whilst on a night out with friends and was introduced to him by a mutual friend. The couple hit it off instantly! “I had never seen him on a night out before but we talked for hours and swapped numbers at the end of the evening so that we could arrange a first date”. For their first date they went to a lovely restaurant on Anglesey and picked up where they left off, getting on like a house on fire the evening flew by and they both knew a second date would soon follow!
Geraint proposed to Lisa on her birthday which was the 3rd June. He had arranged a weekend away in Liverpool and cleverly Lisa didn’t suspect a thing seeing as she thought it was to celebrate her birthday. It turned out to be a double celebration and ‘a huge (but lovely) surprise’. After he popped the question they went out for dinner and drinks and when they got home from their trip Lisa’s Parents had already arranged a surprise party for the happy couple!
Lisa always knew the style of dress she would like for her wedding but never thought she would actually find it! Lisa tried on 12 different dresses and 2 shopping trips before she found the one she had ‘always dreamt of’! Lisa chose a beautiful dress by Suzanne Neville which she was able to customise with a jewelled belt and Lisa also had the train extended. Due to Lisa being 5ft 10 tall she decided on a low heeled pair of shoes to go with the dress. She wore earrings from Boodles and a delicate necklace which was a birthday present from Geraint, a few weeks before the wedding! The couple had six gorgeous bridesmaids and Geraint’s niece Ela, was a flower girl! The bridesmaids all wore Dessy dresses from Bespoke Brides in Chester in a subtle but elegant Larkspur blue. The girls also has little diamante pins and pale blue flowers for their hair.
The Groom and Groomsmen all wore Navy Tails with the ushers wearing cravats which complimented the colour of the bridesmaids dresses whilst Geraint wore an ivory cravat and waistcoat.
The couple tied the knot traditionally at Seilo Chapel, Caernarfon, their family chapel in wales. It was important to Lisa that her 90 year old grandfather and retired minister should conduct the wedding service! “It was extremely special and emotional for all of us”. Members of both Lisa and Geraint’s family contributed during the ceremony, Geraint’s cousins sang a traditional welsh love song and one of Lisa’s closest friends played the harp.
For the wedding reception venue they chose Tre-Ysgawen Hall as it was a beautiful Country Manor Hotel on Anglesey. With the spectacular gardens, the couple knew it would be the perfect setting for beautiful wedding photographs.”We were not disappointed“!
The theme for the day was to stay true to the traditional white wedding that Lisa always wanted with classic details. An infusion of peach was introduced along with a slightly more substantial feature of subtle blues to the flowers and chair covers to compliment the bridesmaids. These colours were carried through into the florals too including Lisa’s flowers and the Bridesmaids bouquets which consisted of white, pale peach and pink peonies with the addition to the bridesmaids of pale blue accents all created beautifully by Acacia Florists of Anglesey. Lisa’s Mum made their four tier fruit cake which was decorated by a local cake company Tier Celebration Cakes. The couple also made a donation to cancer research on behalf of all the guests!
Lisa and Geraint arranged for a string quartet to play throughout the drinks and canapés reception which created a lovely ambiance. Into the evening they went on to enjoy a brilliant band called Slinky playing live sets during the party. Lisa is a huge disney fan hence why they chose ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight‘ by Elton John for their first dance! – They could reminise their very first holiday together at Disney in Florida.
