The proposal

Lee surprised his gorgeous girl with a romantic proposal on their third anniversary. “He took me for a weekend away at Oundle Mill in Peterborough, and had arranged everything right down to asking my father’s permission. He’d even been around to all my friends to ask their opinions on the ring he’d chosen and all that time I hadn’t suspected a thing!” smiles Lisa. “We had such an amazing weekend and now that hotel will always be such a special place for us,” she adds

The bride’s outfit

“Everyone told me my dress suited me down to the ground – it was stunning, fun and carefree, plus it made me feel so happy!” beams Lisa. We couldn’t agree more, she looks incredible! The gown was a steal from Vivien of Holloway. Lisa teamed it with a pair of heavenly heels from high street favourite Debenhams, and a fascinator made by a close friend

“I have so many amazing friends, but because we wanted to keep the wedding small, I didn’t have any official bridesmaids. We just had Lee’s niece as our flowergirl and four of my close friends who wore floral wrist corsages. They helped the day run smoothly,” explains Lisa. The flowergirl’s dress was a hot pink design from Monsoon

The ceremony

The couple’s civil ceremony took place at Hereford Town Hall and included a reading from the bride’s brother. “My best memory was definitely holding hands with Lee as we said our vows – it felt like we were in a dreamworld, just the two of us,” smiles Lisa

The reception

Lisa and Lee hired yurts from Cheltenham Yurt Hire, which they set up in Lisa’s parents’ garden. “We bought lots of gorgeous bunting to decorate the tents, which we mixed with coloured tealight holders and lots of coloured paper fans,” explains Lisa. These were complemented by the fun and vibrant floral displays, put together by freelance florist Lucy May

The entertainment

The couple hired a local DJ who came fully equipped with a classic cheesy playlist and a karaoke machine – the perfect entertainment to get everyone up and joining in together. “At the end of the night my stepdad surprised us with an awesome firework display and lit a big bonfire for everyone to stand around and watch,” remembers Lisa. “Everyone loved it.”

The honeymoon

Lisa and Lee spent 10 luxurious days sunning it up in Crete – a perfect destination if you’re looking for a short-haul escape.
