How they met

“I was completely besotted with him, right from the start,” smiles Lintilla. “We met on my birthday night out at Proud Gallery in Camden – and he was the best birthday present I could have hoped for.”

The proposal

Paul treated his girl to another wonderful birthday present – a proposal! “It was on my 30th,” recalls Lintilla. “I had a party booked for the night after my birthday with all my friends and family, and Paul was arranging dinner for us on my actual birthday night. I thought we would be going somewhere local, but little did I know he had booked a hotel in London, and was treating me to the most amazing restaurant for dinner! He proposed at the hotel before we went out.”

The bride’s outfit

We’ve fallen for Lintilla’s darling style – we just can’t get enough of her Stewart Parvin, lacy fishtail gown. “I felt like a million dollars,” beams Lintilla. “After I put it on, everything to do with the wedding felt like it was fitting into place,” she adds

The groom’s outfit

The groom and his ushers wore morning suits from Moss Bros. They chose grey jackets with tails. Paul wore a green cravat, while the other boys wore Champagne-coloured ties that matched the bridesmaids

The bridesmaids

“I had my three best friends in the world – sharing the run up to the day with them was so special,” remembers Lintilla. The three older girls wore silk dupion gowns, also bespoke creations from Stewart Parvin, accessorised with earrings from Glitzy Secrets

The ceremony

The couple married in the same church where Lintilla’s parents married, nearly 40 years earlier. “My dad and our friend Lucy each did a reading,” explains Lintilla. “Our vicar was really great, he let us play songs important to us when we were signing the register. It was so amazing hearing Florence and the Machine’s Dog Days Are Over while we were signing away.”

The flowers

Lintilla’s parents grew all the couple’s flowers in their garden. “We made the bouquets the night before the wedding! We came back from the wedding rehearsal and each made our own bouquet, with a glass of Prosecco,” smiles Lintilla

The reception

Took place at The Old Rectory at East Farleigh – a beautiful old house with lovely grounds, which hosted a marquee for the wedding breakfast and dancing for the evening party.

The food

“We remembered that guests always get hungry waiting for the wedding breakfast, so we had lots of yummy canapés ready straight after the ceremony,” says Lintilla. For the main meal they served a hog roast with mixed salads – perfect for their outdoorsy big day

The stationery

Was all homemade by Lintilla and Paul, using materials from Hobbycraft and the high street
