Some brides store their wedding dress after the big day, some sell it and some wreck it in a Trash the Dress photo shoot. But not many lose it, which is exactly what pop songstress Lily Allen has done.
The singer made the shock confession in an interview for 4Music’s Rock the Look with Rimmel. A fan asked her about the most expensive item of clothing in her wardrobe, to which she replied: “There’s two bits to this answer. One is that it’s not my my wardrobe, it’s missing. And two, it’s my Chanel Couture wedding dress that’s worth about £20,000.”
Although Lily wore a lace dress by French designer Delphine Manivet for the actual ceremony back in 2011, she changed into her bespoke Chanel creation, designed for her by Karl Lagerfeld, for the evening celebration. And it’s this dress she seems to have misplaced.
Miquita asked the question on all of our lips – “How could that go missing?” – but Lily just shrugged and said simply: “I don’t know where it is.” Unbelievable! Surely you couldn’t mislay your bespoke dream dress, especially if it was worth that much? Perhaps Lily’s two-year-old daughter Ethel has swiped it for her own big day? Let’s hope so…
