Delphiniums, Wildflowers, Lavender, Roses, Hydrangea… With so many options it can all seem a bit daunting choosing your real flower confetti.
Thankfully, The Real Flower Petal Confetti Company have put together a guide to help you decide which petals are best for you. Each flower petal has its own charms, so read on to learn a little more about which one will suit your big day.
Delphiniums
Size and Shape
Small, delicate petals, about the size of your fingernail – they are light as a feather and flutter down beautifully in the confetti moment.
Colours
Available in 7 colours including pinks and blues. They can be mixed any way you like (and they can also be mixed with our Wildflower Petals) so it’s easy to create bespoke confetti to suit any colour theme or style.
Style and Characteristics
We grow the Delphiniums on our farm in Worcestershire; they are handpicked and air dried in the summer sunshine, making them the most eco-friendly choice! Delphiniums also store really well so they are a great choice for an organised bride trying to tick thing off her list nice and early!
Quantities and Prices
1 pint of Delphinium & Wildflower Petals costs £11. 1 pint is 10 closed handfuls, which is enough for 10 guests. 1 pint will fill 10 cones, petal bags or envelopes. You can also buy ready filled sachets and envelopes online.
Wildflowers including Mini Rose Buds
Size and Shape
The petals are tiny (1cm long) super light and fluffy. Rose buds are about 1.5cm round.
Colours
Our Wildflowers offer a bigger range of colours to mix with the delphiniums – six including yellow and black.
Style and Characteristics
We also grow the Wildflowers here on the farm and they are handpicked and air dried so are a very green choice! They add a different texture to the confetti mix and enable both softer, prettier confetti combinations, or brighter, bolder mixes.
Quantities and Prices
1 pint of Delphinium & Wildflower Petals costs £11. 1 pint is 10 closed handfuls, enough for 10 guests. 1 pint will fill 10 confetti cones, petal bags or envelopes.
Lavender
Size and Shape
Tiny grains of English Lavender add a wonderful scent to a confetti mix.
Colours
They are dark purple and, in a mix of Delphinium or Wildflower petals, Lavender looks and smells great!
Style and Characteristics
Lavender is a very traditional confetti choice and suits a vintage or country garden wedding or a boho bride.
Quantities and Prices
Mixed with other petals Lavender costs £11 a pint. 100g of Lavender (which is a little over a pint) costs £3.50. 500g of Lavender is £1. You can also buy a 15g bag for £2.
Small Natural Roses
Size and Shape
These petals make great throwing confetti – they’re about 2-3cm wide but they do vary quite a bit because from harvest to harvest. They have been freeze dried to keep their natural colour which also means they won’t wilt on your wedding day like fresh petals would.
Colours
We have 7 colours available, including pinks and purples, and you can mix them together however you wish! Because the petals are bigger than Delphiniums and Wildflowers they offer a great splash of colour in photographs.
Style and Characteristics
Loose rose petals in a bridesmaid’s basket look really lovely and it’s easy for wedding guests to just take a handful. They are a great all-round petal – they can look classic and traditional, pretty and girly, bright and bold – anything you want!
Quantities and Prices
1 pint of Small Rose Petals costs £11. 1 pint is 10 closed handfuls, enough for 10 guests. 1 pint will fill 10 cones, petal bags or envelopes. You can also buy ready filled Petal Bags and Envelopes online.
Large Natural Roses
Size and Shape
These petals are bit bigger (approx. 3cm wide) and are also freeze dried but they have retained their natural curl – they look like they’ve just fallen from the stem.
Colours
Large Roses have a beautiful variation of natural colour. We have 8 different colours available including a sunset orange and pale mauve.
Style and Characteristics
Because of the shape of the petals and their fragility they don’t really fit into our packaging but they look beautiful in basket placed by the church door. Large rose petals are also a great choice for scattering down the aisle, creating petal pathways and decorating your venue. The soft colours like pink and cream suit a pretty and romantic wedding; golden yellow is great for spring weddings and blackcurrant perfect for winter!
Quantities and Prices
1 pint of large rose petals costs £8.50.
Coloured Roses
Size and shape
These petals measure about 2cm wide and are generally quite round in shape.
Colours
Coloured roses are perfect for brides who have a more adventurous colour theme! They are real rose petals that have been preserved and colour enhanced which means we can offer you shades like mint green that just isn’t available in nature! The coloured rose petals are dyed, so they might leak colour if they are crushed, get wet, or exposed to high humidity, but with the lighter colours the risk is very small.
Style and Characteristics
The range of colours available means there is something to suit any wedding theme – bright and modern, soft and vintage, black and white – and with our confetti cones and petals bags they offer even more options. Just use your imagination! We don’t mix the colours together but you can do this yourself and the possibilities are endless!
Quantities & Prices
1 pint of coloured rose petals costs £7.50. 4 pint box = £25. 1 pint is 10 closed handfuls – enough for 10 guests. 1 pint will fill 10 cones or petal bags. You can also buy ready filled sachets online.
Hydrangeas
Size and Shape
Hydrangeas are very pretty confetti petals, like little flowers in themselves! Hydrangeas tend to come in little clusters of tiny flower heads measuring from 2cm to 4cm wide.
Colours
They are available in four pastel shades – pink, blue, green and white. Our Hydrangea petals have also been preserved and colour enhanced, the same as our coloured roses.
Style and Characteristics
The pastel colours are soft and sweet and co-ordinate well with our cones and petal bags – mix and match different colours for lovely confetti that would suit a contemporary wedding. Or baby pink and baby blue are both popular and classic wedding choices.

1 pint of Hydrangeas costs £8.50. 4 pint box = £27.50. 1 pint is 10 closed handfuls, enough for 10 guests. 1 pint will fill 10 cones or petal bags. You can also buy ready filled sachets online.
