We love the pastel colours and classic 1920s decor in Jessica and Stephen’s glamorous wedding. This special day is super pretty!
The proposal
Jessica met Stephen when she was only 17. “He was 21 and I was a little intimidated but then I realised how much of a joker he is and soon felt at ease,” laughs Jessica. It was while on a Christmas holiday to New York that Stephen popped the question. “It was our last evening there and we had gone to the Rockefeller center to see the famous Home Alone Christmas tree,” remembers Jessica. “Stephen knows my love of New York and Christmas, so it was a very special moment.”
The bride’s outfit
Jessica found her dream dress in a local bridal shop in Wirral. The stunning Maggie Sottero dress was made of lace and fitted to the hips with a tulle train. “As soon as I tried it on I loved it,” smiles Jessica. “I loved the lace details – it was a real princess dress.” Jessica accessorised with comfy lace wedding shoes from Next as well as matching jewellery from Alan Hannah at Debenhams and a bargain vintage hair piece.
The groom’s outfit
Stephen chose a navy blue suit from Greenwoods. “He looked the most handsome I have ever seen him – he was so smart and so suave,” remembers Jessica.
The bridesmaids
Jessica had five lovely bridesmaids for her big day. The girls wore the same chiffon pleated dress from Next in two different shades, as well as gorgeous jewellery from Jon Richards, which the bride gave to them as gifts.
The ceremony
The religious service included two readings, and Jessica’s dad walked her down the aisle to My Girl by The Temptations.
The reception
The celebrations continued at the Holiday Inn in Ellesmere Port. The couple chose glamorous 1920s decor with pastel colours, pearls and lace. The flowers were provided by Bebington High Class Florist and the beautiful, square four tier cake fit their theme perfectly with its white icing and pink flowers. Guests were treated to a traditional three-course meal and were entertained by the hotel’s DJ, who had a playlist of the couple’s favourite music.
The honeymoon
The newlyweds chose to go on their dream honeymoon to Jamaica where they visited Bob Marley’s house, swam with dolphins and climbed Dunn’s River Falls.
