After 10 years together, happy couple Jade and Sam had a wonderful wedding full of colour and love!
Jade and Sam met when they were only 17 and very quickly became best friends. They had been together eight and half years when, in London for new year’s eve, Sam started a conversation about how they had been together for a long time and how happy they were. Then he asked Jade to marry him! This startled bride had to take her mittens off so he could put the ring on her finger and a moment later the fireworks began. It was perfect!
As Jade walked over the bridge at Newbury Manor Hotel with her dad, to hear the music and all the people she loves looking happy and smiling, she was overwhelmed. It was an amazing moment that she will treasure forever… Jade and Sam chose a vintage fête/Alice in Wonderland theme for their wedding, with lots of sweets, cakes and biscuits! With the help of their family, friends and bridesmaids, they made most of the decorations all by themselves, including the bunting, decorative cupcakes, pom poms, hearts and thoughtful wedding favours.
Neither the bride or groom wanted a traditional three-course meal, so a BBQ was served to guests which included burgers, sausages, jacket potatoes and salads. The speeches were another highlight, including Jade’s dad pointing out that the couple had been together exactly 10 years and 10 days! With a first dance to Tom Odell’s Grow Old and ‘their song’ Ho Hey by the Lumineers playing at the end of the ceremony and at the end of the night, guests enjoyed a brilliant party that continued into the small hours of the morning.
Jade knew from her sisters’ and mum’s reaction when they saw her in her dress that it was ‘the one’! She chose Irregular Choice shoes that fitted in with her brilliant Alice In Wonderland theme and her seven bridesmaids included her three sisters, three nieces and her best friend, who wore dresses from Elderberry Brides in Hampshire. Jade wore a bracelet in memory of her dear nan who had passed away six weeks before the wedding.
With a wedding cake bought from Marks and Spencer and re-modelled to fit with the theme, and sweet treats dotted throughout the reception, this fun-loving couple really looked after their guests. There were garden games including Jenga and skittles outside in the garden, and the playlist was made up of songs that covered years worth of memories with their friends and siblings. Even good weather turned up to shine down on the best day of this lovely couple’s lives!
