After nearly losing her on a first date, Andrew has Lucy for keeps! They created a beautiful pastel green wedding, and it was certainly a day to remember!
Andy’s proposal was quite remarkable – a perfectly timed champagne date for two overlooking London from the Hilton hotel. On their first date the couple were sat at the bar, Andy left for a few minutes only to come back and find Lucy being chatted up by another man. “Treat ‘em mean, keep ‘em keen, I say!” says Lucy. Lucy found her dress back home in Kendal and felt like a princess when she put it on. She wore a Thomas Sabo bracelet, which Andy had bought a heart charm for. She wore four flowers in her hair to complete the simply stylish look.
The wedding breakfast was a lavish and delicious affair, with a salmon and prawn terrine starter followed by an amazing roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. It was the nicest meal the couple had ever had! Lucy and Andy’s magical first dance was to John Legend’s All of Me.
The beautiful flowers were all created by Lucy’s friend and were dotted throughout the venue. The cake was three-tiered – chocolate, fruit and Victoria sponge – from Marks and Spencer. Favours were little boxes filled with Grasmere gingerbread – a delicacy in the Lakes, where Lucy grew up. The speeches were filled with humour and thoughtful references that had everyone crying and laughing in equal measures. Guests danced to a ceilidh band until the early hours.
