Bitten by the travel bug, loved-up Laura and Luke made their big day a travel-themed wedding around their favourite destinations. Gorgeous!
How they met
Pub drinks led to true love for Laura and Luke. “He made me happy whenever I was around him, and I loved how he could lift everyone’s spirits without even trying,” smiles Laura. “On our second date, I crashed my car into the car park wall, and Luke told me not to worry because he did it all the time!”
The proposal
Luke proposed to Laura while the couple were celebrating her birthday on a spa break in Hampshire. “As a ploy, he told me to turn around and close my eyes, and put a necklace around my neck,” Laura says, “Then he told me to turn back, and to my surprise, he was down on one knee with the most beautiful ring.”
The bride’s outfit
Laura looked radiant in an ivory lace fit-and-flare ‘Quinlynn’ dress by Maggie Sottero. “I first tried it on 17 months before the wedding, but didn’t want to buy it too early because I was worried I’d see something else I liked more,” Laura says. “I spent the next six months trying on all sorts of lovely dresses, but my heart always went back to Quinlynn – I even dreamed about it!”
The groom’s outfit
Luke turned heads in a slate grey tails suit with ivory waistcoat, cravat and pocket square from Cameron Ross. “Luke is a bricklayer so it’s always a treat to see him suited and booted,” Laura says.
The bridesmaids
The four maids wore vibrant purple chiffon gowns by Alfred Angelo, with ivory peep toes.
The ceremony
Laura and Luke were married in a church ceremony – something that Laura had dreamed of since childhood. “Walking out of the church as husband and wife with all our family and friends behind us, I felt so happy,” Laura recalls.
The reception
The couple themed their reception around their love of travel, with vintage VW campervans as transport, tables named after their favourite holiday destinations and shells scattered around the floral centrepieces. “We had Summertime Hits by the Beach Boys playing while everyone mingled outside, drinking Pimms and soaking up the sunshine,” Laura adds.
The honeymoon
The newlyweds began their honeymoon in Kuala Lumpur before travelling on to Bali.
