Ian Stuart is well known for his dramatic wedding gowns, but yesterday he unveiled a truly chic collection especially for mums.
The Spring/Summer 2014 collection, which was launched at the uber elegant Grosvenor House Hotel in London, features figure-flattering silk gowns and jackets. More tailored shapes also made an appearance as did trouser suits and sensational separates.
Pink Clay was a hot new colour for 2014, a super-flattering shade for older skin. And for fans of Ian’s dramatic designs, he didn’t disappoint. We loved his 50s-inspired dress complete with spotty fabric (very Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday!) and his bright fuchsia and ultra marine dresses, perfect for a glamorous wedding abroad. Sparkly lace also made an appearance in the new collection – a hot bridal trend that’s now making its way over to Mother of the Bride.
All of the designs were cut and designed especially with mums in mind with tummy-flattering ruching on the front and elegant three-quarter length sleeves.
The top UK designer also revealed his collaboration with Richard Designs, and together they have created a stunning range of Ian Stuart Millinery to complement the collection.
Designs will be in stores from Mid-November so why not treat your mum to a dreamy new outfit for the big day? To find your nearest stockist visit ianstuart-london.com or click here to see Ian’s stunning Supernova bridal collection.
