Unveiled in his stunning new Blewcoat Building in London, award-winning wedding dress designer Ian Stuart revealed his new Spring/Summer occasionwear collection for 2015… And Wedding Ideas was there to see it!

Ian understands exactly how modern mums want to look and feel on the big day and the collection was brimming with figure-flattering designs details, like three-quarter length sleeves, statement wraps, empire-line details and more.

Ian’s signature floral elements were present in varying degrees, which makes all of these dreamy designs perfect for a summer celebration. He also showed dresses with lace overlays, meaning your mum can also have two looks in one for the big day – and night.

Our hot pick from the collection was the Monet Chenille dress, boasting a wide, 50s-inspired neckline and a flattering length that just kissed the knee. The fabric took on an almost handpainted quality – ideal if your mum wants a unique look that helps her stand out from the crowd.

The palette was pastel perfection with some of our favourite looks in lavender, violet, sweetpea, mocha and pewter, while fabrics ranged from sequined circle lace, taffeta and Thai silk.

And it wasn’t just the dresses that were taking our breath away. Ian’s collection of accessories were also being shown alongside the gowns, and included statement hats, floral headpieces, shoes from top designer Freya Rose and more.

And to finish the show? Ian chose a dramatic floor-length gown in vibrant peacock blue – the perfect finalé to this new collection.
