The National Wedding Show is packed with hundreds of ideas for the perfect wedding day – and we don’t want you to miss a thing! That’s why we’ve put together these top tips to help you make the most of your trip…

Plan of attack

Make sure you check the Exhibitor List prior to the show so you can plan exactly which stands you want to visit. Try to visit them early on – all the stands get busier later in the day.

Be inspired

Check out the Inspiration Sessions led by wedding expert Kate Smallwood. She’ll be joined by some of the top names in the wedding industry to bring you top tips and advice on everything from hair and beauty to floristry and fashion.

Be an early bird

Arrive early for the show to avoid the queues and maximize your time finding all those wedding ideas!

Shop ’til you drop

You’ll be on your feet all day so it’s really important that you wear comfortable shoes, meaning you can shop ’til you drop!

Goody bags galore!

Make sure that you don’t bring heavy bags with you as they are such a pain to carry around all day… and you’ll need to keep your hands free for your amazing goody bag!

Wear suitable clothing

With the UK’s biggest collection of wedding dresses all under one roof, you’ll want to try on as many gowns as possible, so we recommend that you wear clothing that’s easy to change in and out of.

Get organised

With so much to see and do, it’s really important that you organise your day and give yourself plenty of time. Our website lists all the fashion show times to make planning your day easier.

Watch the live demos

With so many amazing live demonstrations going on, things can get very busy so please do arrive early for all the live features, especially the catwalk show, to ensure you get a seat near the front.

Nearest and dearest

Make sure that you bring along people who are encouraging, patient and that will help you make all those important decisions.

Remember to relax

Remember you’re at the show to enjoy yourself so take the time to enjoy a leisurely lunch and treat yourself to a glass of bubbly at the end of the day!

The National Wedding Show is being held at London Olympia on 22nd to 24th February and at the Birmingham NEC on 1st to 3rd March.

    • We were sorry to hear you found the last show disappointing. We have developed the shows hugely over the last year to give brides-to-be the best possible experience. Such changes include introducing dedicated changing rooms for each retailer, in order that brides can try on dresses in a real boutique environment. Further improvements have been made to the layout and look and feel of the event as well as the features. We really pride ourselves on our catwalk show and the range of dresses we have available as well as the number of experts from across the wedding industry who take part in the show. If you would like to visit the show again as our guest and see these changes first hand please let us know.

    • I went to the NEC last year and actually brought my dream dress, I was only meant to be going to have a little look around! Me and my girls loved it.

  1. Its great to actually talk face to face with prospective suppliers, especially photographers, they are a big part of some very intimate moments getting ready with your bridesmaids etc and its a MUST that you feel comfortable with them and see there portfolio.

  2. The catwalk show was my absoulte favourite part, its one thing seeing a dress on a hanger but a totally different thing to see it on the catwalk and understand how it moves and what accessories work well with it.
