Cut yourself some slack

We hold ourselves to impossible standards and then beat ourselves up when we don’t meet them. Don’t take yourself so seriously, no one else does.

Think before you speak

Once you let some ill-considered words out of your mouth, you can’t get them back. Keep your words positive – happiness and complaining can’t co-exist!

Choose your battles

There are thousands of little things that just aren’t worth fighting for – let them go. Remember, 80% of everything is irrelevant, focus on the other 20.

Get rid of the stress-causers

Eliminate people and things that cause stress, including caffeine and sugar as well as emotional vampires who drain you. Surround yourself with positive people, and they will help you achieve your dream day.

Create the life you want

Take care of you and your family. Stop focusing on what other people are saying, doing and gossiping. It’s your day, do it your way!

Trust your senses

“Gut feeling” is not just a euphemism. Tension in the abdomen speaks volumes about how you truly feel about something. Listen.

Be specific about your goals

When setting yourself a goal, it’s better to be more specific. “Lose 5 pounds” will prove to be more successful than “lose some weight”.

Single-task

Do one thing at a time and give it all you’ve got! Multi-tasking is bad for your health, and really, it won’t save you any time.

Smile!

When you smile, your brain releases serotonin, the happy hormone. Smiling is the natural way to feel happy inside and out.
