Begin with skin

“You should start to prepare your skin for your wedding at least three months before. Get into the habit of removing your make-up, deep cleansing and moisturising your skin every night, and cleansing, moisturising and applying SPF to your skin in the morningI would recommend investing in a sonic cleansing brush, such as the Australian Bodycare Active Cleansing Brush. This waterproof device is perfect for using in the shower. Using a mild foaming cleansing gel – use the brush at least 3 times a week, work all around the face, down the neck and onto the décolleté and shoulders to ensure your skin glows and looks lustrous on your wedding day. Once a week use a facial exfoliator and deep cleansing mask, this will remove dead skin cells and deep cleanse the pores leaving them looking smoother and more refined – this in turn will allow your make-up to look more natural and give your skin a beautiful dewy radiance. If you are wearing a low back or backless dress then having a back-cial once a week – ask someone to deep cleanse your back with the Active Cleansing Brush, exfoliate, mask and moisturise. The week of your wedding try to avoid any harsh treatments and exfoliations.”

“Wedding hairstyles with braids are a hot trend right now. Whether it is for the bride of bridesmaids; braids can be incorporated into many different types of bridal hairstyles including down, up and ponytail to create a soft, romantic look. Whether your hair is shoulder or longer, you can create a gorgeous waterfall braid in no time for a new take on the floral crown, or how about a braided crown weaved with flowers! Brides with a backless wedding dress can also opt for a cascading fishtail braid and use hair accessories that match the colour of your flowers for an extra added touch”

Breathable make-up

“The photos you take on your wedding day are meant to last a lifetime so your choice of make-up is vital. Always ensure you book a test-run with your Makeup Artist ahead of the big day, it’s much more important to work out the look you want to achieve prior to the day than to try and save money on this area. Bridal and catwalk trends have shown natural looks are becoming more popular than the more emphasised looks of previous years. Airbase make-up offers a breathable silicone-based formula, with added Vitamin A and E. This not only creates a long-lasting flawless look, it is heat and weather resistant and also gives fantastic tattoo coverage – a definite bonus for the Bride and her bridal party”

Natural nails

“Start your nail care routine early if you’re embracing natural nails on your big day. I’d say leave at least three months – to ensure your talons are in tip top working order. Remember to apply cuticle oil at least twice a day to prevent the cuticles from getting dry and splitting. Apply a nail repairing product, such as Micro Cell’s Nail Repair on the lead-up to the day – which will strengthen and improve the health of your nails, to avoid any last minute breaks. Do this for 2-3 weeks and you will notice a big difference in length and health. For the actual day of your wedding, always apply a base coat and top coat, to prolong the colour on your nails”
