Newlyweds, Hannah and Allan, had a beautiful purple wedding with a handmade edge, to make their wedding day extra special!
When Hannah and Allan met, she knew he was for keeps, even sending her mum a text saying, ‘I’d like to keep this one, please!’ after their amazing first date. On their wedding day it was Allan who walked Hannah down the aisle – Hannah’s father sadly passed away and her mum has Parkinson’s disease, so this couple ditched tradition to make one of Hannah’s favourite moments. “We got our own special meeting, when Allan walked up to meet me,” she explains.
The ceremony was followed by an equally personal reception, for which the couple made many of the details themselves – including the brooch bouquets, table decorations, cakes and sweetie-bag favours. The couple’s first dance was to I Knew I Loved You Before I Met You by Savage Garden. Allan is Scottish and Hannah loves dancing, so what could more perfect than a ceilidh for this fun-loving couple?
With no particular theme, Hannah and Allan just ‘did their own thing!’ This included making decorations, and Hannah made all the bouquets herself using buttons, as she’s not especially fond of flowers. She also loves baking, so she was the obvious choice to make the cake. Allan and Hannah made much of the stationery together, ‘Blue Peter- style’ too, including the Order of the Day sheets, so that guests knew exactly when they would be fed and when they would get to dance!
