Ever wondered how we create our gorgeous covers? Here’s how! The incredible team at 88 Films captured all the action from the latest cover shoot for your amazing June issue, out now!
“We wanted to create a classic look for our early summer cover,” explains Sophie, Deputy Editor of Wedding Ideas and the stylist for this shoot. “Zara our model was absolutely gorgeous so any look would have worked with her. We chose a ‘vintage chic’ as our buzzwords – still a very popular theme – and created our look around that.”
“The gown we chose for the cover was called Mirri from Sophia Tolli. A classic gentle fishtail with a gorgeous high lace neckline and a flattering sweeheart bodice – perfect for spring.”
“Because of all the detail about the neckline, I chose to keep the accessories simple. Hair pins were from award-winning designers Chez Bec and the statement earrings were from Sweetheart Vintage. We decided against a large headpiece as we didn’t want it to detract from the beauty of the gown.”
“Sabine Darrall is an expert florist who creates all of our bouquets for the front cover. Her colour choices are always sublime and she always uses such a wonderful mix of seasonal blooms to show brides what’s best at each time of year.”
“For the hair, we asked Jonny at celebrity hairdressers Guy Kremer to create a classic updo with a modern twist and the side chignon was perfect for this. They are also easy to take down if you want a different look in the evening.”
“We really wanted to make the eyes pop, so we used a heavy liner on top and went more subtle on the cheeks and lips to get that real ‘English Rose’ feel. Our make-up artist used Mac products to create this cover-worthy glow.”
