Chelsee and Dean had an ultra-glam white and crystal theme for their wedding day, with added sparkle when a surprise superstar turned up to sing at their wedding!
How they met
Liverpuddlian lovebirds Chelsee and Dean met at a young age, when the pair were at school. “Although we went to different schools, we had the same group of friends, so we’d always be hanging out in the park together,” remembers bride Chelsee. “Dean is three years older than me, so he liked to look after me.”
The couple dated for six years before Dean popped the question on Chelsee’s 22nd birthday. “It wasn’t very romantic at all!” she laughs. “He just gave me a birthday card saying ‘To my fiancée’ and then handed me the engagement ring!”
The bride’s outfit
Beautiful bride Chelsee wore a Madeline Gardner ballgown with a sweetheart neckline and crystal and sequin embellishments. “I’d actually chosen another dress already when my mum and I popped into a bridal boutique to have a look,” the bride recalls. “This dress was hanging up, and we both knew the instant we saw it that it was mine – I just fell in love!” Chelsee finished off her princess- perfect look with a glittering tiara, crystal drop earrings, a delicate crystal necklace and bracelet set and towering platform heels.
The groom’s outfit
Dean looked handsome in his stylish blue suit from Moss Bros. He accessorised with a white patterned waistcoat, white bow tie and floral buttonhole to match the bridesmaids’ bouquets.
Chelsee was attended by a whopping 10 bridesmaids – five adult bridesmaids and five adorable flowergirls – all of whom looked stunning in their white and crystal dresses. The adult bridesmaids wore fabulous full- length gowns with a sweetheart neckline and flattering beaded bust detail, which the mother of the bride picked up in the States. “My mum actually spotted them in Macy’s while she was in New York,” says Chelsee. “She knew they were exactly the style I was looking for, so bought them!”
The couple had a beautiful church ceremony at St Joseph’s in Liverpool. “I loved saying my vows,” says Chelsee happily. “I’d been quite emotional in the morning, but once I started walking down the aisle and saw Dean waiting for me looking calm and happy, I felt so much better.”
Chelsee and Dean chose an ultra- glamorous white and crystal theme for their reception at Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa. “I’ve always loved diamanté and sequins, and we chose all white as we thought it was a bit different,” says Chelsee. One of the bride’s favourite details were the dramatic ostrich feather centrepieces, which were put together by Creation Events. “The room needed something extra, and these were perfect,” she says.
Chelsee and Dean got the ultimate surprise at their reception when none other than Take That superstar Gary Barlow showed up to perform for them! The singer had promised on Twitter that he would perform at five of his most loyal fans’ weddings, and Chelsee’s younger sister Lohis had immediately been in touch to try and persuade him to attend. “There had been whispers about it at the wedding, as Gary had followed my sister on Twitter back in February, but I had no idea what was going on until about 11pm,” says Chelsee.
“I was on the dancefloor wondering why my photographer was still there, when suddenly there was a big spotlight on me and Gary Barlow appeared! I felt like I was in a movie.” The star performed a rendition of A Million Love Songs, the newlyweds’ favourite song, before catching up with the couple in private. “It was incredible,” says Chelsee. “He was holding my hand and telling me how beautiful I looked – I think I’m still in shock now! To have it on the wedding DVD is just fantastic.”
The couple visited sunny Halkidiki, Greece for a relaxing break.
