If you’re in the midst of the wedding planning and you’re starting to think about your flowers, florist Daisy Ellen gives us the lowdown on her all-time favourite wedding bouquets…
Claire and Mark
Claire and Mark got married at the lovely Bassmead Manor Barns on a beautiful Spring day in April. They were such a lovely couple to work with on their wedding flowers – I particularly remember Claire being very excited because she had no idea what Mark was going to wear! It turned out to be a twist on a classic tradition which I loved! Claire’s bouquet was full of scented florals from pink ‘O Hara’ Roses to delicate Sweet Pea. Paper white Ranunculus, nude vintage ‘Mentha’ Roses and a mixture of ‘Avalanche’ Roses were added to create a stunning blush and ivory bouquet! For Mark, a classic blue Eryngium with a velvety Senecio leaf formed his buttonhole. What a beautiful couple!
Alfie and Marta
Alfie and Marta are one of those lovely couples who are just meant to be! They went through years of long distance travelling to be with each other (approx 3,600 miles back and forth between the UK and Canada!) and finally got married in Lymington, Hampshire in June. Marta had beautiful bright corals for her bouquet including one of my personal favourites, Peonies. These were complemented with ‘Vuvuzela’ Roses, ‘Miss Piggy’ Roses, apricot scented Stocks, blush Astillbe and a splash of lucky Rosemary! Alfie had a matching coral Rose as his buttonhole.
Liam and Ellie
Liam and Ellie got married on a spring day in March, at a beautiful church in a village where Ellie was born and raised. The reception was at a beautiful thatched barn in Yelling where they continued singing and dancing into the early hours. As a classic and stylish couple, they went for a simple but striking ‘Red Naomi’ Rose hand tied bouquet to complement Ellie’s stunning princess-style dress. Liam matched Ellie with a Red Rose Buttonhole and a cheeky bowler hat. Love it!
Bridie and Martin
Bridie and Martin got married on a perfectly sunny day this summer at Glenham Hall in Suffolk. They chose a vintage afternoon tea party theme with the cutest little touches including a slideshow of their journey together, a sweet buffet and lavender
sprigs on all the napkins for the guests. Bridie carried a bouquet of ice cream colours including ‘Sweet Avalanche’ Roses, vintage ‘Memory Lane’ Roses, ‘Avalanche’ Roses, sweet Mint, scented cream Stocks and clusters of ‘something blue’ pale Hydrangeas. Martin wore a matching ‘Avalanche’ ivory Rose and her bridesmaids carried smaller versions of her bouquet – super cute!
Liz and Dave
Liz and Dave got married at a beautiful hotel on a sunny September day. Surrounded by all their friends and loved ones it was a truly special wedding. Liz had a stunning bead encrusted dress, which was complemented by her bridal bouquet. Beautiful blooms including ‘Avalanche’ Roses, white Lisianthus, ‘Cool Water’ Roses, white scented Stocks and silver leafed Eucalyptus created her hand tied bouquet. I think you’ll agree they look very much in love and so happy!
